NEW DELHI: India CSR Network in association with Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi organized National Summit on Best Practices in CSR: Learning and Future Ahead on 3rd March 2017 at Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi. The summit gave a platform not only to CSR debates and CSR case stories but also provided solutions in the form of promoting innovative CSR solutions.

The summit was graced by the esteemed think tanks Anurag Batra, Chairman & Editor in Chief – BW Businessworld; Dr BS Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur; Anupam Nidhi, Group Head CSR, Reliance Group; Rusen Kumar, Founder & Editor, India CSR Network; Dr. S.P. Chauhan (Professor and Dean (Executive Education), Asia-Pacific Institute of Management and Dr KK Upadhyay, former head of FICCI Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence and Prof. Saurabh Mittal.
Anurag Batra, Chairman & Editor in Chief – BW Businessworld addressed the forum and highlighted the important role of corporate CSR partnership in nation building. He expressed his concerns on emerging challenges of CSR.
The summit had a key note on CSR leadership by renowned academician Dr BS Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur. Dr BS Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur talked about how academician can add value to the CSR space taking CSR knowledge to the society. Another key note speaker Anupam Nidhi, Group Head CSR, Reliance Group shared about CSR strategy, governance and key CSR projects of Reliance.
Rusen Kumar, Founder & Editor of India CSR Network said, “India CSR believes in Inclusive Growth as a holistic part of CSR Studies. As a think tank, India CSR looks at scaling up professional learning and the measuring CSR development for the betterment of the CSR fraternity. To bring about this change the India CSR looks at adding Corporate, Government and society CSR values for a faster scale up.”
Book on CSR released
Summit also witnessed the launch of book titled ‘Best practice in CSR: Learning and future ahead’ edited by Rusen Kumar, Prof Saurabh Mittal and Dr Rana Singh, a collection of case studies on contemporary CSR projects and successful social enterprises. India CSR believes that case story published in the book will help the reader to understand the importance and impact of the CSR contributions. India CSR strongly believe that CSR projects being executed in the world need to be documented and published regularly, so that the stakeholders may also get ready access to them. The book will be an important tool to glance at the prevailing CSR practices in the country.
Dr. BS Sahay honoured with ‘India CSR Lifetime Achievement Award’
India CSR Network honoured Dr. Prof B S Sahay with ‘India CSR Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his outstanding contribution to CSR space. The award was presented at National Summit. Prof Sahay also delivered his key note address to CSR fraternity attending the summit. He motivated the CSR leaders for their continuous contribution and efforts for the service toward community development in India. He deliberated about required professional qualifications, trainings for professional excellence in the area of emerging CSR ecosystem in the country.
In his keynote address, Prof Sahay congratulated and praised extraordinary efforts being made by Rusen Kumar, who belongs to Raigarh, one of the remotest place of the Chhattisgarh. He said that Rusen Kumar is an excellent example of ‘power of village youth’. A common man with strong conviction can bring a big change in the society. Youth who live in villages have excellent talent and they need to be nurtured by the leaders.
The lifetime achievement award is an acknowledgement of Prof Sahay’s sincere contributions to the areas of corporate responsibility, social and sustainable development, and human resources. India CSR wished him happy and healthy life ahead to carry on with his mission to make positive contributions for the citizens and the country.
Prof Sahay is a dynamic multifaceted academician with hands on experience in research, consultancy and executive training. Prof Sahay has made outstanding and significant contributions as a teacher, writer and board member of national and international journals of repute. He is the Founding Director of Indian Institute of Management, Raipur. His work has taken him to places beyond the country and expanded horizons across the continents. He has led successful assignments in manufacturing, services sector and supply chain management. He has been member of board of governance at various organizations, is a revolutionary thinker in the areas of logistics, operations management and business modeling. ‘India CSR Life Time Achievement Award’ is a recognition to Prof Sahay, a great human being and a personality par excellence!
Anupam Nidhi conferred with ‘India CSR Women CSR Leadership Award’
The prestigious ‘India CSR Women CSR Leadership Award’ was conferred upon Ms. Anupam Nidhi, Head CSR, Reliance Group for her outstanding contribution in strategizing large scale CSR projects. The honour was presented at the Summit. Anupam Nidhi delivered her key note address to CSR fraternity attending the summit. While addressing Nidhi emphasised on urgently need of partnership working model of CSR implementation. Working in collaborations can bring change at community level.
Anupam Nidhi is a versatile development professional with grass root experience in the areas of micro finance, employability and environment. Nidhi is equally competent to drive businesses across Project Management, Crisis Management and Entrepreneurship Development. Her rank of heading CSR and tenure with Reliance Group speaks great volumes of her command over CSR and other allied areas. She has traversed her influence across advisory, strategic planning and execution. She’s a CSR strategist with great understanding of brazen realities. While receiving the honour Ms Nidhi said, “This Award is great honour which brings big responsibility to me. The inspiration helps me personally to continue the efforts with even more fervour.”

This year’s theme for the India CSR Awards is ‘Celebrating Innovation and Leadership in CSR’. India CSR Awards have been instituted to recognize the innovative CSR Practices in India. India CSR Awards is one of the highest recognition honoring the outstanding and innovative CSR, Sustainability and Social Enterprise Projects and leadership in CSR.

The summit provided opportunity for corporate to interact with CSR experts and the young minds to further enhance the value of projects being undertaken.
