If you want to save an image of what you see on your Mac, you can take a screenshot. A screenshot is a digital copy of your screen that you can save, edit, or share with others. Whether you want to show an error message, illustrate a tutorial, or capture a funny moment, screenshots are a handy tool for any Mac user.

In this article, we will show you how to screenshot on Mac using different methods, keyboard shortcuts, and tools. We will also explain how to edit your screenshots, change the default save location, and share your screenshots with others.

How to Screenshot the Entire Screen on Mac

The simplest way to screenshot on Mac is to capture the entire screen. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Press Command + Shift + 3 on your keyboard. This will take a screenshot of your entire screen and save it as a PNG file on your desktop.

Step 2: You will hear a camera shutter sound and see a thumbnail of your screenshot in the bottom-right corner of your screen. If you click on the thumbnail, you can edit your screenshot using the Markup tool. If you ignore the thumbnail, it will disappear after a few seconds.

Step 3: To find your screenshot, go to your desktop and look for a file named Screen Shot followed by the date and time.
