UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top 5 silver producers globally has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards the redesign, upgradation and development of the Rabindra Nath Tagore (RNT) Hospital, Udaipur. The MoU was signed between Arun Misra, CEO and Wholetime Director, Hindustan Zinc and Vipin Mathur, Principal of RNT hospital in the presence of other senior officials.The organisation has also under taken commitment to invest in setting up a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at this Hospital. This initiative is focused on strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and building a long-term community asset for the residents of Udaipur – Zinc City.
As part of this collaboration, Hindustan Zinc is supporting the comprehensive Master Plan for the holistic transformation of Rabindra Nath Tagore (RNT) Hospital into a future-ready, multi-specialty healthcare facility with best-in-class technologyand fostering an environment conducive to research and development. The project is expected to significantly improve access to advanced and affordable medical care for residents of Udaipurand neighbouring districts, enabling timely diagnosis and treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Misra, CEO & Wholetime Director – Hindustan Zinc said, “At Hindustan Zinc, we believe that access to quality healthcare is fundamental to building stronger communities. This initiative is a step towards supporting lifesaving medical infrastructure in Rajasthan and ensuring that advanced care is available to all. We are proud to partner with RNT in strengthening the Hospital’s capacity to serve the people of Rajasthan.”
A major highlight will be the introduction of a state-of-the-art Cath Lab specially designed for minimally invasive, image-guided cardiac procedures. The Cath Lab will enable critical interventions such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent placement and emergency management of heart attacks, significantly improving patient outcomes and response time.
Adding to this, Vipin Mathur, Principal – RNT Medical College said,“The association between Hindustan Zinc and RNT Hospital has been longstanding. Beyond the current collaboration, Hindustan Zinc has consistently extended timely support towards the development of the Cardiology Centre and other departments. With their continued support and through this MoU, we have now taken the decision to establish a Cath Lab within the centre.”
In addition, the initiative aims to strategically position Udaipur as a prominent medical tourism destination by leveraging the enhanced capabilities and infrastructure of the upgraded hospital. The initiative reflects Hindustan Zinc’s continued commitment to creating meaningful social impact by supporting critical medical infrastructure and enhancing healthcare delivery in Rajasthan.
