Hindustan Zinc Celebrates 10 Years of Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival
Share Share Share Share

NEW DELHI (India CSR): This year, Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival (VUWMF), one of the best destination music festivals in India, returns not just as another chapter, but as a milestone of reflection and celebration, marking ten years of a journey sparked by a simple belief: music has the power to connect the world. Supported by Hindustan Zinc & conceptualised by SEHER in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the festival will take place from 6th – 8th February 2026 in Zinc City – Udaipur and continues to welcome audiences to be part of a cultural experience shaped by sound, stories, and shared emotion.

At the heart of the festival lies a deeply rooted vision – bringing world music from across the globe to Indian audiences while simultaneously promoting and preserving forgotten musical instruments and traditional sounds of Rajasthan. Staying true to this vision, the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival stands out as the only music festival in the country structured around the three natural moods of the day.

The upcoming edition spread across 3-days will feature 20 bands from 10+ countries, representing a rich tapestry of musical traditions. From folk and indigenous sounds to contemporary global expressions, various artists will come together to offer performances that celebrate diversity while reminding us of our shared humanity.

The festival experience will unfold across three iconic venues in Udaipur, each offering a distinct mood and musical journey. Morning performances at Manji Ka Ghat will focus on music rooted in meditation, introspection, and mental well-being set against the calm waters and serene surroundings of the ghat. As the day transitions, afternoon sessions at Fateh Sagar Paal, will explore a more romantic and emotive expression of music, creating an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and lyrical storytelling by the lake. The festival will culminate each evening at Gandhi Ground, bringing together high-energy, contemporary, and pop-driven sounds transforming the space into a vibrant celebration of rhythm, movement, and collective joy.

Reflecting on ten years of the festival journey, Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder, SEHER, said, “Completing ten years of the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival is both humbling and deeply fulfilling for all of us at SEHER. What started as a simple idea-to bring the world’s music closer to people in an open, inclusive, and culturally rich setting-has today become a global celebration of harmony, diversity, and shared human emotion. Udaipur, with its timeless beauty and welcoming spirit, has been the perfect home for this journey. As we mark a decade of the festival, we look forward to welcoming artists and audiences from across the world to come together once again and celebrate music in its purest, most joyful form.”

Hindustan Zinc has a deep-rooted commitment to preserving and promoting India’s cultural heritage. Embracing music as a universal language that unites people, the company has introduced several initiatives to celebrate this timeless art form. Prominent among these are the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival, Srajan – The Spark (an international platform showcasing India’s global artistic influence), and Smritiyan, which honors the legacy of the legendary tabla maestro, Oscar nominee, and BAFTA awardee Late Pandit Chatur Lal.

Extending beyond music, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon—celebrated as India’s Most Beautiful Marathon for its scenic route—raises awareness and support to combat rural malnutrition in Rajasthan.

Through these initiatives, Hindustan Zinc continues to position Rajasthan as a global cultural hub, drawing visitors from around the world while driving social impact and community development.

As the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival marks ten years of storytelling through sound, it has quietly grown into one of India’s most distinctive cultural gatherings. Set against the iconic lakes, ghats, and historic landscapes of Udaipur, the festival has consistently brought together artists and audiences from across countries creating a space where traditions meet, cultures converse, and music becomes a universal language.
