New Delhi: Hindustan Unilever Foundation (HUF) initiated Water for Public Good under Water Conservation Project which reached to over 5,000 villages in 51 districts, 10 states and 2 union territories across India under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with a specific focus on water conservation, building local community institutions to govern water resources and enhancing farm based livelihoods through adoption of judicious water practices.
HUF also supports several knowledge initiatives in water conservation and governance.
HUF’s water conservation and farm-based livelihood initiatives, have created water saving potential of over 700 billion litres, generating over 0.80 million tonnes of additional agriculture production and over 7.5 million person days of employment.
Till FY 2018-19, HUF’s water conservation capacity stood at 900 billion litres.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has spent 8.95 crore on water management programmes through implementing agencies in FY 2018-19 under CSR.
