New Delhi – The government has allotted Rs 695 crore for North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) for FY 2019-20 (Apr-Mar). The announcement was made during the budget presentation in the parliament by Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman.
The overall budget allocated to the Ministry of Development of North Easter Region (DoNER) is Rs 3000 crore as compared to the RE of Rs 2629 crore in FY 2018-19.
The budget outlay for the North East Road Sector Dev Scheme is Rs 666 crore almost 70% more than what was allotted during the last financial year ending 31 Mar.
However, the outlays for Schemes of North Eastern Council and Central Pool of Resources for NE&Sikkim were reduced from Rs 607 crore and Rs 781 crore to Rs 580 crore and Rs 531 crore respectively.
