Dhenkanal (Odisha): GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited (GKEL) which operates 1050 MW coal-fired power plant at Kamalanga in the district organised a voluntary a blood donation camp in association with Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal, at its plants site Hospital, on June 28, 2016. In all, 88 units of blood were collected from this one-day camp.
The camp was inaugurated by S Nageswara Rao, Vice-President & Plant Head, GKEL which a team of doctors & paramedical staff from Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal, conducted the camp. “We at GKEL are committed to provide improved health care facilities to our communities. We are proud to be associated with this well-intentioned cause of blood donation. By organising such blood donation camps every donor is contributing towards the well-being of the society at large. We take this opportunity to thank the donors for their participation. We also appreciate the support provided by Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal,” Rao said,
Enthusiastic participants including employees of GKEL, Raxa Security Services, GMR Varalakshmi DAV School and members of the neighbourhood community participated in the noble cause. The Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal distributed certificates to the donors and appreciated the GKEL employees for organising a successful blood donation camp.
Senior employees of GKEL including Srijit Mishra, General Manager (HR), Haresh Patnaik, GM (Mechanical), Dillip Kumar Kar, Program Leader (CSR), Susanta Kumar Sahoo, AGM (EHS) donated blood.
