NEW DELHI: Free of cost Covid protection kits are being distributed to the underprivileged children. It is an initiative by Devir Singh Bhandari, Filmmaker & Author Yuva Bharat also the Vice President of the DSB Foundation.
Devir Bhandari states “Children seem to be less susceptible to the coronavirus, but they aren’t immune. It is unlikely that any future wave of Covid-19 by the prevailing variants of coronavirus will disproportionately affect children, but as they say Prevention is better than Cure and we cannot risk the lives of our country’s children.”
The campaign has been supported by Dettol, Dabur, Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies, Klover Healthcare, Kewal Care, India Law Offices, Hallo9x Foundation, Sewa Bharti Organisation.
Isha Bhandari, Chairperson of the Foundation states,”DSB Foundation is bringing trustworthy guidance to parents, caregivers and educators, and partnering with front-line responders to ensure they have the information and resources they need to keep children safe, healthy and learning. We have also partnered with Department of Social Policy & Intervention, University of Oxford, UK & COVID 19 Parenting Organisation , UK to disseminate the resources and ideas to support parents and projects that will engage children in understanding the coronavirus, the challenges it brings to their world and what can be done to protect them.”
In the first phase 1000 kits are being distributed in ten locations across Delhi in the month of July. The kits have safety items like masks, sanitizers, water bottles, hair clips for girls, juices etc. Paediatrics are also supporting the campaign and educating the children as well as their parents.
The Foundation has made a profound impact on the lives of the underprivileged children during COVID-19. Numerous donation drives to distribute food have been conducted.
The Foundation has received colossal appreciation for their projects on Road Safety , Environment, COVID Support and International Campaigns. All projects of the foundation are aligned with UN SDG 2030.
