MUMBAI (India CSR): FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd (NYKAA) announced that Falguni Nayar, Founder and CEO of Nykaawas honored for her corporate and philanthropic leadership at the American India Foundation’s (AIF) Annual Gala held by the New York Chapter at Cipriani Wall Street.

Falguni Nayar received the prestigious recognition alongside Michael Miebach, CEO of Mastercard as paragons of inspirational, passionate leaders who have left an indelible mark in their respective fields and driven transformative impact in the communities they serve. Previous recipients of this honor include N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, Brian Moynihan, Chair of the Board and CEO of Bank of America and Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM. The event was attended by over 700 people including distinguished leaders like Victor Menzes, ex Chairman CEO of Citibank, Harit Talwar, co-chair AIF global board, Nishant Pandey, CEO of AIF, and was hosted by Zarna Garg, Indian-American comedian and screenwriter.

This honor recognizes Falguni’s visionary leadership and remarkable foresight which have propelled Nykaa to unprecedented success and established it as symbolic to beauty in India. What began as a dream has blossomed into a revolution, redefining the beauty industry and empowering millions of women across the country. Along with the felicitation, Falguni also announced a 3-year association between AIF and Nykaa to promote and encourage STEM education for girls in India.

Since inception, Nykaa has consistently championed self-expression and developed programs that provide holistic education, upskilling, and livelihood opportunities. Demonstrating its dedication to advancing the field of technology, Nykaa partnered with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) to establish a ‘Chair in Consumer Technology.’ This multi-year initiative is designed to foster research and education in the field and equip students with essential knowledge to create impactful technology-led business models.

In addition to this, Nykaa collaborates closely with social impact organizations to implement co-designed programs focused on empowering urban and rural women and bringing them into mainstream employment. To help underprivileged talent excel in sports, Nykaa supports training programs for young children and women. A testimony to their belief in self-expression, programs offering alternative education methods for children aged 7 – 16 are being implemented to nurture them into well-rounded students and support their well-being.

Commenting on the gala and the association, Falguni Nayar, Founder and CEO, Nykaa said, “I am very grateful for this recognition by AIF. Nykaa was created with a vision to empower women to be the protagonist of their lives and to live life with a spotlight on themselves. In an effort to equalize opportunities and empower girls with the confidence to follow their dreams- today I am proud to announce a 3-year association between Nykaa and AIF that will equip more girls with the resources to follow their true passion into STEM education.”

Commenting on the same, Nishant Pandey, CEO, AIF said, “AIF is so proud to have Mastercard and Nykaa as our honorees this year–Michael and Falguni are true exemplars of inspirational, passionate leaders who advance AIF’s mission to drive sustainable, social and economic change.”

The American India Foundation (AIF) is committed to improving the lives of India’s underprivileged—with a special focus on women, children, and youth—through high impact interventions in education, livelihoods, and public health. AIF is a binational organization strengthening the bridge between the civil societies of the world’s largest and two most powerful democracies- India and the United States of America.

The Digital Equalizer (DE) program is a signature technology-led education program of AIFT that aims to bridge the digital divide for students to participate in the digital economy, and prepares students, especially young girls, for a career and life. The DE Program, since its initiation in 2004 has impacted over 46,385 schools across 35 states and union territories covering 8.14 million students through 240,302 teachers. The curriculum emphasizes integrating technology and promoting STEM education.
