The future of work is anchored by technology, and yet, women continue to lag behind men with regard to their access to technology, the skills to use it, and employment in tech, and therefore risk missing out on the potential benefits of technological innovation.
On the eve of International Programmer’s Day, Quest Alliance will bring together sector practitioners and experts for the launch of their white paper titled – Engaging Girls in STEM: Enablers and Barriers.
Date: Friday, 11th September 2020, 11 am – 1.15 pm.
This white paper is published with support from IBM and knowledge partners Tandem Research.
In response to the Covid-19 global pandemic, Quest to Learn, this year, is hosting these conversations virtually. Through a series of webinars and virtual engagements, It aims to catalyse new perspectives and solutions co-created with the community – together contributing to thought leadership on the future of work and learning.
The paper highlights:
- The need to re-imagine STEM beyond a group of subjects to a 21st century mindset.
- Gender gap in STEM education and factors that influence this in India
- The role of key stakeholders and policy needed to enable girls to pursue STEM education and careers
- Learnings from the IBM STEM for Girls India program in government secondary schools across 10 states
