KORBA/Balconagar:‘ Education is the biggest donation. It’s the asset that increases on distributing. Balco management is committed to providing help to the needy students. The increasing number of students in the no fees Vedanta Study Centre run by BALCO is a mark of success of the Project Connect.’ Said, Deepak Prasad, Head, Aluminium Business, Balco in the celebration ceremony organized at the Expert club on the completion of one year of Project Connect. The officials & employees who are involved in volunteering as teachers under the project attended the ceremony.
Prasad shared inspirational anecdotes from his student life and cited that it is difficult to progress without hard labor. He said that students belonging to the needy groups are brilliant. If provided, the right guidance, they would be able to achieve great successes in life. He further added that Project Connect runs on the same philosophy.
The needy students from Balco Nagar are being given free coaching through the project. He expressed his happiness that two students from the academic session 2016-17 qualified through engineering entrances. He is optimistic that the students from the academic session 2017-18 would have exemplary performance. Prasad praised the officers & employee volunteers providing their services for the coaching centre for their passion.
Ashish Ranjan, Head, CC & CSR Balco told that Balco launched the Vedanta Study Centre, a year back under the Project Connect which aims at empowerment through education. The project that commenced with limited space and teachers has now grown up large-scale. The centre would facilitate students from class 8th-12th.
The new academic session is being run at Chandrodaya Gyan Mandir situated at Parsabhata. Classes on English, Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry run between 6-8 pm.
The volunteers who have served as teachers under the project, expressed their satisfaction on getting an opportunity to help the needy students. The teachers from the new session said that it was a great experience to teach the students. They are learning a lot while solving their queries.
The ceremony was coordinated by Vivek Singh, Asso. Manager CSR, Balco & Officer Trainee Sanchita Chanana. RajKrishna Trivedi, Assistant Manager CSR, Balco was present at the event.
