NEW DELHI: Dr. Sameer Sharma is appointed as Director General and Chief Executive Officer (DG & CEO) of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), a think tank that comes under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, Govt. of India.
IICA informed India CSR Network on development.
Dr. Sharma is an IAS officer of 1985 batch from Andra Pradesh. He is presently working as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Prior, Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs was heading IICA. Before Singh, Sunil Arora served as DG & CEO. Pritam Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India also served as DG & CEO.
Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee has served as the first full time DG & CEO and contributed immensely to the organization.
IICA works on measures to improve the corporate growth and regulation, among others. IICA has an objective to develop and establish a new discipline of ‘Corporate Affairs’ for holistic treatment of matters impacting on corporate functioning and provide instruction and capacity building in the subject to a wide range of stakeholders drawn from the government, regulators, professionals and public.
