Chandigarh: DLF Foundation was awarded the “CRS Excellence Award – We Care” for their exemplary contribution in the field of Community Welfare and Vocational Training by Amity Chandigarh.The Amity Chandigarh CSR Awards-We Care are the first of its kind initiated by any B-School in the region to recognize exemplary contributions in the field of Corporate Social responsibility by the Corporate Houses in and around the Tricity.
The chief guest at occasion Chairman of Punjab Infotech, Mr Manjit Singh Rai said that the award holds special significance in the times when corporate sectors have shouldered government responsibilities in fields of education, health, environment, women empowerment and other sectors.
In her introductory address Prof (Dr) Shivali Dhingra, the Director of Amity Global Business School Chandigarh said that the CSR Awards – We Care were the first of its kind initiative by a B-School in Chandigarh, while the corporate meet was mega event to strengthen academia-institute bond. She added that the participants have been categorized into nine groups and have been evaluated by eminent jury.
The guest of eminence at occasion was executive vice president and Head North HDFC Bank Limited Govind Pandey, while the guests of honour were CEO Nectar Life Sciences Limited Dinesh Dua and Senior VP and COO Upper North Tata Teleservices Nipun Sharma.Head CSR FICCI, Dr KK Upadhyay gave opening remarks for the CSR awards.
DLF Foundation was recognized for its various initiatives undertaken in the Social arena among the local community. DLF Foundation has a dedicated CSR Team that acts as a focal point for the organization’s social endeavours. DLF Foundation train and empower the underprivileged with permanent skills, thus enabling them to earn their livelihood, they have established Employability Linked Vocational Training Centres under the banner of DLF LIFE (Learning Initiative for Employment).
The programme has been carried out in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi. A large number of youth have been provided employment across the 19 centre’s established till date. It is theirendeavour to expand this effort to cover more areas and assist those unemployed in the underserved areas. A large number of new Skill Training Centres are in the process of being opened.
