NEW DELHI: Dell India was awarded Special Commendation for Golden Peacock Award as a recognition of its unrelenting efforts in sustainability. The award was presented to Dell at an award ceremony held last evening in London.
Dell’s sustainability efforts were recognized by the Institute of Director’s, India, based on several parameters such as focused strategy, break-through initiatives, implementation, and impact.
This year, the title was awarded by Expert Evaluation Committee of Golden Peacock Awards, under the Chairmanship of Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India.
On receiving the award, Alok Ohrie, President and Managing Director – Commercial, Dell India said, “The Golden Peacock award is a noteworthy recognition of our persistent and steady efforts towards achieving our sustainability goals. At Dell, we incorporate sustainability into everything we do, from design to recycling and every step in between. We go beyond green IT — technology that helps us focus on our sustainability goals and take control of our resources in a way that creates value.”
Adding to this, Rajeev Kapoor, India Vice President, and CSR Campion, Dell India said, “Sustainability is the core of our CSR initiatives and we use our technological expertise to come up with solutions with help keep a check on our carbon footprint. We are the first and only IT firm to offer computers made of the recycled carbon fiber and e-waste components. We would take this opportunity to thank our employees across the globe who actively participate and support our sustainability efforts.”
The entries for this award were reviewed independently by assessors based on an exhaustive set of parameters for a total score card of 1,000 marks.
