SINGHITARAI, SAKTI, CHHATTISGARH (India CSR): Reaffirming its commitment to community wellbeing and sustainable healthcare, Vedanta Limited Chhattisgarh Thermal Power Plant (VLCTPP) has extended its support as a Nikshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, contributing meaningfully towards the national goal of tuberculosis elimination. On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, VLCTPP distributed nutritional kits to 50 tuberculosis patients in Sakti district. The distribution ceremony was held at the Collector’s office in Jetha, where Sakti Collector Amrit Vikas Topno handed over the kits in the presence of district administration officials, representatives from the State Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, and VLCTPP team members.
As part of its CSR initiative under the flagship healthcare programme “Arogya”, VLCTPP has committed to providing sustained nutritional support to identified TB patients for a period of six months. The initiative focuses on addressing nutritional deficiencies, improving treatment adherence, and enhancing recovery outcomes. Each kit includes protein-rich and calorie-dense essentials such as pulses, beans, soy-based supplements, and cooking oil, ensuring holistic nutritional care.

With approximately 250 TB patients identified in Sakti district, VLCTPP, in close coordination with the District Health Department, is prioritizing the most vulnerable beneficiaries for support. This collaborative approach reflects a shared vision of inclusive healthcare delivery and community resilience.
The distribution event was attended by Jila Panchayat CEO Vasu Jain, CMHO-Sakti Dr. Pooja Agrawal, State PMTBM Consultant Deeksha Puri, District TB Officer Dr. SR Sidar, TB Programme Incharge Vinod Rathore, Vedanta Power Sector CSR Head Krittika Bhatt & CSR Team Members.

Further strengthening its CSR footprint in healthcare, VLCTPP continues to operate mobile health camps across the Gram Panchayats of Singhitarai, Nimohi, and Odekera in partnership with the PHD Rural Development Foundation. Equipped with qualified medical professionals, including MBBS doctors, the mobile health unit provide free consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines. Screening for lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and anaemia is also conducted, benefiting over 700 community members to date.
