India, as a nation, witnessed a situation that humanity has not faced in modern times. The COVID-19 crisis that has hit the whole of humanity in recent months is unprecedented in terms of scale, speed of spread and impact.
There is still huge uncertainty around how long this crisis will last and what damage it would do to the economy, livelihoods of citizens and availability of basic healthcare to those who need it the most.
During this time of unprecedented uncertainty owing to the outbreak of COVID-19, TechnipFMC India has undertaken initiatives under the aegis of COVID19 Community Care in full compliance with the directives issued by the Govt. of India, World Health Organization and other regulatory authorities to ensure first and foremost the health, safety and well-being of all our stakeholders including the communities who are an integral part of TechnipFMC India’s vibrant family.
Relief Response
We have activated the COVID Community care initiatives in alignment with CSR mandate and the UN Sustainable development Goals at three levels, the company said.
National Level
Assistance has been extended in form of financial support of INR 1 crore to PMCARES(Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations) Fund to undertake and support COVID 19 related medical treatment relief for our fellow citizens.
State Level
Financial support of Rs. 1.30 crores has been extended to respective State Disaster Relief Funds in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu ,Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh to cope up with the relief and response related needs.
Community Level
While the primary consequences of this pandemic are on people’s health and lives, the secondary effects are likely to be deep and wide-ranging, with severe disruption in livelihoods and jobs, along with its cascading social implications. Basis the immediate needs emerged in ten states-Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana, Assam, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, we have extended our support to more than 90,000 marginalized individuals through the following humanitarian and healthcare relief response initiatives, the company said
3,334 COVID-19 RTPCR diagnostic kits were distributed in ICMR approved hospitals/testing labs in Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
12,500 PPEs and hygiene kits were distributed amongst the non-frontline healthcare workers including sanitation and police personnel in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Gujarat.
9 ICU ventilators were donated in ICMR approved hospitals to provide emergency support for the COVID-19 affected patients.
30,000 kgs of food ration were distributed to less fortunate people in abovementioned nine states.
Extended livelihood promotion opportunity for 50 women by procuring cotton cloth masks from them thereby enabling their income in this time of crisis.
While the Government has taken a number of effective measures to deal with the pandemic, the seriousness of the crisis calls for collaborative action from all corners of the society to help the needy and less fortunate ones to mitigate its wide-ranging human impact.
