Member of Parliament from Tirunelveli Lok Sabha Constituency Thiru. S. Gnanathiraviam at an event organised in Kuruchikulam Village launched CSR project.

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu): Viviid Emissions Reductions Universal Private Limited an avowed global player in the domain of Carbon Management with functional expertise spanning over two decades now firmly believes that any intervention on Sustainability is incomplete till its benefits percolate down to the last person standing in the row.

Innovative CSR Interventions

Adept in managing and optimizing Carbon Portfolios for myriad Renewable Energy Projects like Wind, Solar and Hydroelectric among several others and trading their Carbon Offsets to a wide cross section of prestigious Global Buyers, Viviid Emissions enjoys the mandate of rolling out Innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Interventions on behalf of its vast clientele.

Latest in this league has been a wholesome Women and Child Empowerment Intervention that the company has rolled out in Kalakudi and Kuruchikulam Villages of Manur Block under Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu in alliance with Blossom Trust a leading grassroots NGO of the State working in the domain of gender equality, women and child empowerment.

Project ‘IDEAL’ for Women and Children

This Intervention towards Integrated Development through Empowerment, Advocacy and Livelihood for Women and Children abbreviated as ‘IDEAL for Women and Children’ was launched earlier today by Member of Parliament from Tirunelveli Lok Sabha Constituency Thiru. S. Gnanathiraviam at an event organised in Kuruchikulam Village with several senior Government Functionaries and Village Stakeholders in attendance.

Corporates are assuming responsibility towards the wellbeing of communities

Speaking at the occasion, Member of Parliament Thiru. S. Gnanathiraviam said, “It is endearing to see that the Corporates are assuming responsibility towards the wellbeing of communities where they operate. Over and above what Government has been pro-actively doing for the socio-economic welfare of the people, this additional partnership and support from Corporates has immense potential of bringing well rounded transformation for the rural communities. I congratulate the people of Kuruchikulam and Kalakudi Villages, Viviid Emissions Reductions Universal Private Limited, Vaayu (India) Power Corporation Private Limited and Blossom Trust as they embark on a renewed journey towards Sustainability in this area.”

Baseline Survey

On this occasion Member of Parliament Thiru. S. Gnanathiraviam also declared the “Baseline Survey” for the Intervention open. Madras School of Social Work, Chennai has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing the Baseline Questionnaire and also orienting the volunteers for conducting the baseline survey successfully.

Net Zero agenda

Kalakudi and Kuruchikulam villages are barely 25 kilometres from Tirunelveli town and come under the fold of the wind rich belt. With several renewable energy projects up and running for many years now, this zone undeniably has been in the clean space and has been persistently contributing towards the Net Zero agenda that entire world is formidably chasing.

Carbon Neutrality mandate also works toward the overall well-being of women and children: Puneet Katyal

In an official statement issued by Viviid Emissions Reductions Universal Private Limited for the launch event, its Chief Operating Officer, Puneet Katyal said, “We ascribe as much importance to People as we attribute to the Planet. While managing carbon portfolios and optimizing the value of carbon offsets is our forte, we cannot emphasize enough upon the importance of shared prosperity leaving no one behind.”

“In Kalakudi and Kuruchikulam Villages we now have a Social Sustainability Intervention that apart from our Carbon Neutrality mandate also works toward the overall well-being of women and children from both these villages. In the first year it will run as a Pilot which will be suitably replicated and expanded to other villages and geographies where our clients operate. I certainly view this Intervention giving Sustainability a Big Shot in The Arm.”, he added.

Providing multi-dimensional opportunities

Notably IDEAL for Women and Children has a two pronged agenda Creating ‘Twin Model Villages’: Hallmarks for Women and Children’s Empowerment by providing them multi-dimensional opportunities for bringing out positive attitudinal, personality and capability driven, educational, social and economic outcomes at personal and community level.

Interestingly and innovatively a Children’s Parliament will be democratically constituted in both the villages that will raise its voice to promote the cause of children so that their demands are heard by the Constitutional Authorities and subsequently fulfilled.

Among several pivots of this intervention, significant emphasis is being laid on After-School-Assistive Education Classes for children to bridge their learning gaps and enhance the learning outcomes. Another interesting facet of the Intervention is Personality Enhancement modules that will be administered to Children by giving them complete handholding for Communicative English both verbal and written.
