Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation organises its 16th Valedictory function of Samarth-Jyoti Project, Inaugurates Eye Screening Camp

CSR arm of UNO MINDA Group works under the thematic area of Education, Skill Development, Preventive and Curative Healthcare and Community Development and wellbeing.

UNO Minda Group CSR under the aegis of Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation organized its 16th Valedictory function of Samarth-Jyoti Project at Naharpur, Gurugram, Haryana and Inaugurates Eye Screening Camp in collaboration with Vision Spring, India.


UNO MINDA Group is a leading Tier 1 Supplier of Automotive Components to leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) globally. For more than six decades, the group has made significant contributions to the automotive industry supply chain with innovative products, designed and engineered for efficiency with an emphasis on enhanced comfort levels and fine-tuned responses. 

“Empowering the community has always been our guiding principle for us, and we believe that uplifting society will uplift our country. We, at UNO MINDA Group CSR, have a holistic approach in different thematic areas where we provide support to the underprivileged to further change communities for the better. Our programs have emphasized building need-based skills to create a self-sustaining ecosystem for youth, women, and rural communities.”, the company said.

Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF) is an implementing agency for the UNO MINDA Group CSR and operates all its initiatives under its flagship project named Samarth-Jyoti. On 17th November 2022, UNO Minda Group CSR organized its 16th Valedictory function at Samarth-Jyoti Centre, Naharpur, Haryana. Certificates were awarded to vocational training students for cutting and tailoring program, beauty culture program, and Computer program. A total of 90 students were awarded certificates for their skill training.

During the event, Dr. Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor & Head School of Business Environment, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Dr. Raviraj Attrey, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Rajan Kumar, Director, Vision Spring and Vikrant Chandela, Head-Partnerships & Placements, NIIT Foundation joined as chief guest and guests of honour.  

The event was celebrated in presence of Suman Minda, Chairperson, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, Rajiv Kapoor, Group – CHRO, UNO Minda Group, Sachidanand Pande, Group Head IR & PR, UNO Minda Group and they motivated students for their achievements and upcoming future. 

Suman Minda, Chairperson, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation emphasised on the importance of vocational skills and training. She asked all the students to encourage other members of society to join such program and take maximum benefits of it.

Rajiv Kapoor, Group – CHRO, UNO Minda Group congratulated all the successful students and motivated them to do well in their future. He mentioned that UNO MINDA will continue to organise such activities for the welfare of the community in future as well.

Sachidanand Pande, Group Head –  IR & PR, UNO Minda Group and Gaurav Kumar, Head – Group CSR, UNO Minda Group greeted all the dignitaries, community members and expressed gratitude to all present during the ceremony. The event was also graced by Vijaypal Yadav, Ex-Sarpanch, Naharpur, Manesar, Haryana who welcomed all community members as a guardian. Praveen Rawat, Regional Hub Head- NCR & Pant nagar, Laxmikant Bhandare, Program Lead, Abhinav Prakash, Program Officer, & Madan Lal, Centre Lead attended the program. Along with this inauguration an eye check-up camp was launched in collaboration with Vision Spring.  Creating access to affordable eyewear so that people who cannot afford & maintain their eyes health can see well and do well in their life. The eye screening exercise helps to sensitize people on the importance of eye care and offers eyeglasses and other medical solutions to the needy. Around 5000 students from Samarth-Jyoti center and government school children will be covered under this and spectacles will be provided as per the need.

Samarth-Jyoti the flagship initiative of UNO MINDA Group CSR started its first centre in Naharpur in 2012 with courses like computer teaching, Vocational training – cutting & Tailoring, Beauty culture course, Primary education along with remedial classes (coaching classes).  Till date, 16 Samarth-Jyoti centres operating in 7 states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttrakhand, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu.
