Under CSR, BALCO has launched a new collection of exotic chocolates under its Project Unnati self-help group (SHG) program in Korba, Chhattisgarh
RAIPUR (India CSR Exclusive): The chocolates are made under Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) Chhattisa initiative, which focuses on empowering and mobilizing women into self-help groups (SHGs). The initiative has trained over 100 women in chocolate-making, giving them the opportunity to pursue chocolate-making as an entrepreneurial avenue. The women empowerment program trains and prepares women for entrepreneurial activities.
In addition to the blueberry and cranberry chocolates, the new collection also includes chocolates infused with cardamom and calumpang nuts (chironjee). Chhattisa offers an extensive range of 30 homemade chocolate varieties that can be purchased by consumers on a pre-order basis.
