CHENNAI: Nippon Paint (India), a leading paint manufacturer announced its initiative to renovate the walls of the Indian Air Force Academy in Chennai, and give them a new lease of life.
In an attempt to spruce up the dwellings of Air Force officers who contribute to our safety, Nippon Paint has come up with the novel initiative.
The event saw volunteers from NGO Thuvakkam and students of art institutions who painted the first of many walls within the Academy’s premises.
Over 8,000 sq.ft of wall area within the academy will now be beautified with graffiti designs, and patterns around social awareness, Patriotism and Aviation.
Group Captain Neeraj Shukla along with Mahesh S. Anand, President, Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division), kick-started the event which saw the participation of the officers and their families.
Approximately 400 litres of environmental-friendly paints, primers and painting tools will be supplied by Nippon Paint to give a safe and fresh new look to select areas of the Air Force Academy premises including a Jogger’s Park, the auditorium, residential areas, and walls of a nearby railway station. The project, which was off to a great start, is expected to be completed by March.

Such an initiative is a huge morale booster for our commanders and more importantly their families. The newly done walls will make the space feel more vibrant for our soldiers making it feel welcoming, a home away from home. We are anticipating how the final project unfolds after completion”.
