NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a significant step towards the rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities, Narayan Seva Sansthan, a National Award-winning social organization, organized a Narayan Limb and Calipers Fitment Camp in Delhi. The camp was organised with the support of CSR partners including NGSL – a joint venture of NTPC and GE, Tourism Finance Corporation of India Limited, and Shriram Pistons & Rings Limited. Strengthening its commitment to inclusive healthcare, 140 beneficiaries were assisted at the camp, where 110 were fitted with Narayan Limbs and 30 with calipers, collectively receiving 162 assistive devices to restore mobility and independence.
The event was graced by Chief Guest G.C. Joshi (Shriram Pistons & Rings Limited), Chairperson Sidhya Kaushik (Coordinator, CERMA SGS Technology Limited), and Guest of Honour Pooja Chhetri (HR Assistant Manager, Himri State Pvt. Ltd.). Several distinguished guests, including social workers Dinesh Jain, Surendra Chandak, Acharya Shriram Saket Dixit, Rakesh Sharma, Parmanand, Nandan Singh Rawat, Amit Chawla, and Arun Juneja, were also present.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Prashant Agarwal, President, stated “Every step taken with artificial limbs is not just a step towards mobility, but a step towards dignity. 140 individuals were provided with artificial limbs based on prior selection camps. He also emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in delivering accessible rehabilitation services closer to beneficiaries’ homes.
Additionally, Chief Guest, G.C. Joshi stated “The organization is not only empowering differently-abled individuals but also helping restore their lost confidence, making it a highly inspiring initiative for society.” Chairperson Sidhya Kaushik remarked “Such initiatives are life-changing for economically weaker and accident-affected individuals, with a strong focus on making them self-reliant.”
In a powerful highlight of the event, beneficiaries confidently participated in a parade wearing their newly fitted limbs, symbolising resilience and a new beginning. Medical experts also guided them on the proper usage and maintenance of the prosthetics, while a dedicated 30-member team ensured the seamless execution of the camp.
Dignitaries toured the camp, interacted with beneficiaries, and were briefed by medical professionals on the fitment process, while recipients underwent assisted walking training and engaged in activities aimed at building confidence and independence.
Camp In-charge Hari Prasad Laddha expressed gratitude to all supporters and participants. The initiative aimed not only to restore physical mobility but also to instill confidence and foster self-reliance among beneficiaries. The visible change in their demeanour reflected renewed hope, dignity, and optimism.
Established in 1985, the organization has been serving society selflessly and has provided free artificial limbs and medical services to thousands of individuals. To date, the institution has conducted over 452,000 free surgeries and fitted 39,338 artificial limbs.
