The COVID-19 crisis is affecting most families across the country. With an unimaginable number of people affected by Covid, the health infrastructure faces a challenging task to manage the crisis. The leading corporate houses came forward with a helping hand to the governments in handling the crisis. The global infrastructure major, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) created the health infrastructure, including oxygen beds in several states.
MEIL has supplied at an average of 400 cylinders or 30 lakh litres per day to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. Till now more than 60 thousand metric tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) and 8684 cylinders have been supplied.
Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) imported 11 cryogenic tanks from Bangkok (Thailand) and handed them over to Telangana State free of cost.
The tanks will help to increase supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to hospitals and meet the shortage of medical oxygen in hospitals to fight against Covid. With cooperation and coordination with Central and State Governments MEIL is importing tankers ahead of schedule.
MEIL imported another 3 cryogenic oxygen tanks from Singapore and handed them over to the AP government. Each cryogenic tank could supply 1.40 crore litres of medical oxygen, and a total of 4.20 crore litres from 3 tanks. These cryogenic tankers are utilized by the state governments to suit their needs in fighting Covid. They bring liquid medical oxygen from the oxygen production centers and allotted to states and deliver it directly to the hospitals. At the same time these tankers are also used to supply directly to hospitals depending on their needs.
To meet the future demand for oxygen, in any case, the third wave becomes a reality. MEIL is manufacturing cryogenic oxygen tankers with the DRDO collaboration. The top management believes that “Nothing is more important than human life”.
MEIL is creating medical infrastructure like oxygen bed facilities. It has already created a 500-beds oxygen facility in Madurai in just 72 hours and handed it over to the Tamilnadu government. It is already beginning to install more than 3000 oxygen bed facilities across Tamilnadu. To create oxygen beds and other health infrastructure, MEIL is coordinating with CREDAI Tamilnadu and G Square Realtors.
MEIL is at the forefront of doing Humanitarian Activities for society under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Apart from vaccinating every employee, it took care of their health by providing help if anyone is suffering from Covid and other health-related issues. It is also supplying hygienic food for patients and their attendants in various hospitals under Bhojanamrutha scheme.
