NEW DELHI (India CSR): Mankind Pharma, India’s fourth-largest pharmaceutical company, marked a significant milestone in preventive healthcare with the formal declaration of selected villages in Samudrapur Taluka, Wardha district, as India’s first Completely Cervical Cancer shielded villages.
The milestone followed the successful completion of Cervical Cancer Awareness and Free HPV Vaccination Camps conducted under Mankind Pharma’s CSR initiatives. This initiative was undertaken under the Cancer Kavachprogram -a preventive cervical cancer program conceptualized and implemented by CSR Implementation partner SwastyaVriksh foundation (SVF). The program was implemented across multiple villages in the taluka with a focused approach on adolescent girls and women, combining vaccination access with structured awareness campaigns and strong community engagement.

The ceremony brought together representatives from Mankind Pharma, implementation partners, district administration, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to acknowledge the collective effort behind the initiative. The event highlighted not only the achievement of vaccination coverage but also the strengthening of awareness, trust, and preventive health systems at the grassroots level.
Addressing the gathering, Sheetal Arora, Promoter and CEO, Mankind Pharma, said, “The declaration of these villages as Completely Cervical Cancer Shielded reflected what can be achieved when awareness, access, and community participation come together with clear intent. At Mankind Pharma, we have consistently believed that preventive healthcare must reach the last mile. Through Cancer Kavach, we aimed to create measurable and sustainable impact in women’s health. This milestone reinforced our commitment to supporting initiatives that protect future generations and strengthen public health at the grassroots.”

Akhilesh Dimri, Head CSR, Mankind Pharma, added, “This initiative demonstrated how focused CSR efforts can create meaningful and measurable outcomes when supported by strong local partnerships. Through Cancer Kavach, we ensured that vaccination efforts were complemented by structured awareness and on ground engagement. The declaration of these villages as Completely Cervical Cancer Shielded reflected the dedication of healthcare workers, local authorities, and community members who worked together to prioritize prevention. We remain committed to expanding similar interventions to further strengthen women’s health across communities.”
Vanmati C, District Collector, said, “This initiative reflects how coordinated efforts between public administration, healthcare teams, and responsible corporate partners can create meaningful impact at the community level. We remain committed to extending full administrative support to strengthen preventive healthcare outreach, particularly for women and adolescents in rural areas.”

Dr. Deepika Chandhok, Founder President, SwastyaVriksh Foundation, said, “The declaration of these villages as Completely Cervical Cancer Shielded is a proud milestone for everyone involved. It reflects sustained field engagement, strong community trust, and close collaboration with the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mankind Pharma, the Collector, district administration, and healthcare workers. This achievement strengthens our commitment to expanding awareness and HPV vaccination efforts across more regions in India, making prevention central to women’s health.”
Cervical cancer remains one of the most preventable cancers when timely vaccination and awareness are prioritized. The Samudrapur Taluka initiative demonstrated how sustained collaboration and focused execution can translate preventive healthcare intent into measurable community outcomes.
With this milestone, Mankind Pharma reaffirmed its broader CSR commitment to expanding access to preventive healthcare solutions across India, particularly in underserved and rural regions.
