A Significant Contribution Under the ‘Kar Salaam’ Initiative

NEW DELHI (India CSR): – LG Electronics, a leader in India’s consumer durable industry, has reinforced its commitment to the Indian Armed Forces. In a significant gesture of support and respect, the company has pledged a donation of INR 1 Crore to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF). This announcement comes ahead of the Armed Forces Flag Day, an annual observance in India on December 7th to honor the nation’s military forces.

Honouring the Heroes: Armed Forces Flag Day

Since 1949, Armed Forces Flag Day has been a day to remember and pay tribute to the countless heroes who have fought, and continue to protect India’s borders. It’s a day that acknowledges the sacrifices and valor of these brave servicemen and martyrs, ensuring the safety and integrity of the nation.

LG’s Gesture of Gratitude: The Kar Salaam Initiative

Initiated in 2017, the ‘Kar Salaam’ program by LG Electronics is more than just a corporate social responsibility endeavor; it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the Indian soldiers. This initiative reflects LG’s deep respect for the armed forces and their unwavering dedication to the country.

A Steadfast Commitment

Mr. Hong Ju Jeon, the Managing Director of LG India, commented on this noble act, “With a 26-year strong presence in India, LG understands and appreciates the immense sacrifices made by our Armed Forces. The Kar Salaam initiative is our way of expressing thanks to these brave hearts. We are proud to support them in their noble service.”

Acknowledgment from the Kendriya Sainik Board

Commodore H.P. Singh, Secretary of the Kendriya Sainik Board, expressed gratitude towards LG Electronics for their ongoing support. He noted that the Kar Salaam initiative has played a crucial role in raising awareness and generating funds for the welfare of war widows, children of martyrs, war-disabled soldiers, and ex-servicemen.
