Aditya Birla Capital commits another Rs. 3.25 crore for phase II of the project
NEW DELHI (India CSR): King George’s Medical University (KGMU), with support from Aditya Birla Capital Foundation (ABCF), Aditya Birla Capital’s CSR arm, and NGO partner CanKids, has successfully inaugurated a state-of-the-art Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Ward, marking a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare infrastructure. This is a transformative step toward making advanced cancer treatment accessible and affordable in the state and neighbouring regions, eliminating the need for families to travel out of state for critical care.
The newly inaugurated unit is designed to provide affordable, high-quality transplant services to patients across Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. The BMT Ward has been established under a tripartite agreement between KGMU, Aditya Birla Capital, and the technical partner, supported by CSR funding of Rs 2.76 crore for Phase I. With Phase I successfully completed and groundwork for Phase II already in place, the Aditya Birla Group has committed an additional Rs 3.25 crore for the upcoming expansion, underscoring its continued focus on strengthening critical healthcare infrastructure.
