Aditya Birla Capital commits another Rs. 3.25 crore for phase II of the project

NEW DELHI (India CSR): King George’s Medical University (KGMU), with support from Aditya Birla Capital Foundation (ABCF), Aditya Birla Capital’s CSR arm, and NGO partner CanKids, has successfully inaugurated a state-of-the-art Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Ward, marking a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare infrastructure. This is a transformative step toward making advanced cancer treatment accessible and affordable in the state and neighbouring regions, eliminating the need for families to travel out of state for critical care.

The newly inaugurated unit is designed to provide affordable, high-quality transplant services to patients across Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. The BMT Ward has been established under a tripartite agreement between KGMU, Aditya Birla Capital, and the technical partner, supported by CSR funding of Rs 2.76 crore for Phase I. With Phase I successfully completed and groundwork for Phase II already in place, the Aditya Birla Group has committed an additional Rs 3.25 crore for the upcoming expansion, underscoring its continued focus on strengthening critical healthcare infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishakha Mulye, MD & CEO, Aditya Birla Capital Limited, and Director, Aditya Birla Capital Foundationsaid, “A nation’s strength lies in the health of its people, and every hospital built, every doctor trained, and every life saved is a step toward progress. When we laid the foundation for this Bone Marrow Transplant Ward last year, the vision was clear – to create a world-class facility for patients in need of advanced medical care. At Aditya Birla Capital, our purpose of ‘Enriching Lives, Winning as One’ goes beyond financial empowerment. We drive inclusive growth and development in healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods for underserved communities. What unites these pillars is our focus on a women-centric, life-cycle approach. I am confident this state-of-the-art facility will set new benchmarks in making life-saving bone marrow transplants accessible and affordable in the state and neighbouring regions”.

Aditya Birla Capital Foundation is the apex body that sets the strategic direction for developmental projects undertaken by Aditya Birla Capital and its subsidiaries and joint venture companies. The Foundation operates under the mentorship of Smt. Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives & Rural Development, Director Aditya Birla Group of Companies. Aditya Birla Capital Foundation impacts 700,000+ lives annually across 12 states, with over 70% being women and girl children.
