KOLKATA: Students from West Bengal have a new reason to cheer about as Indianoil Petronas Private Limited (IPPL) said that it has collaboration with NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited for providing education scholarships through NSDL e-Gov’s Vidyasaarathi portal. Students from class 8 to 12 will be eligible to apply for these scholarships.

With this association, IPPL aims to provide financial support to the deserving candidates and thereby take a step in bridging the gap in education financing in India.

Pradip Kumar Jha, CEO, Indianoil Petronas Private Ltd. said, “It has always been our endeavor to lend a helping hand to the most deserving students in their journey towards fulfilling their ambitions. We are firm in our conviction that only by enabling an educated nation; we can bring in a revolutionary change in the society.”

IndianOil Petronas takes conscious steps to support and empower students to avail of these scholarships.

“We are delighted to partner with NSDL e-Governance and on-board our scholarship program on the Vidyasaarathi portal. We believe that Vidyasaarathi is a great platform which will help us in reaching out to the young and bright students and thereby make a difference in their career so that there will be a value addition to their respective families as well as to our nation. Though education is a basic requirement, many deserving students are still forced to miss out on their further studies due to increasing tuition fees and lack of resources. With this joint initiative, we will be able to provide support to the economically weaker sections of our society to achieve their dreams.” he said

Vidyasaarathi is a technology-enabled initiative by NSDL e-Gov to bridge the gap in education finance in the country through an online platform. It helps students to search and apply to various education finance schemes provided on merit by Fund providers, industries, and corporates.

Gagan Rai, CEO and MD, NSDL e-Governance said, “The response received from students for Vidyasaarathi within two years of its launch has been phenomenal. Partnering with Indianoil Petronas would definitely help in reaching the important category of students studying in class 8 to class 12. This is the age group where in students start showcasing their hidden talents and therefore it is very important to nurture them. We believe that lack of funds should never be the impediment for dreaming big. With Indianoil Petronas on board, we aim to reach out to the deserving students in West Bengal and help them in fulfilling their dreams.”

More than 6 Lakh students have registered on the Vidyasaarathi portal and 24 corporates have collaborated so far.
