The 11-storey, 3.4 lakh sq. ft. building will treat 7,200 radiation patients and 25,000 new OPD cases annually.

MUMBAI (India CSR): In a significant milestone for healthcare infrastructure in India, ICICI Bank and Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) have commenced the construction of an advanced cancer care building at TMC’s Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai.

Funded through a Rs. 625 crore CSR contribution, the ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’ will be one of India’s largest radiation therapy facilities, providing advanced cancer treatment and research opportunities. The project forms part of ICICI Bank’s broader Rs. 1,800 crore CSR initiative to establish three state-of-the-art cancer hospitals across Navi Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Mullanpur.

The groundbreaking ceremony and unveiling of foundation stone for the building —named as ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’ — were conducted today. The ceremonies were graced by Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Chairman, ICICI Bank;  Sandeep Batra, Executive Director, ICICI Bank; Ajay Gupta, Executive Director, ICICI Bank and Dr. Sudeep Gupta, Director, TMC.

The 11-storey building with a ground floor and two basements will span across 3.4 lakh square feet. It will house 12 state-of-the-art Linear Accelerators (LINACs), and other advanced cancer care equipment. LINACs deliver precise radiation to cancer cells thereby minimising damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
