Udaipur: In a remarkable feat of excellence, Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group entity and a leading player in the mining and smelting industry, emerged victorious at the 37th National Convention on Quality Concepts (NCQC) held at Nagpur from January 4th to 7th, 2024. The event, hosted by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) Nagpur Chapter in collaboration with Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, was graced by the presence of Nitin Gadkari ji, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.
At the distinguished event that witnessed participation of over 2200 Quality Concept teams and 12000+ delegates, Hindustan Zinc’s four business units secured top honours in diverse categories. From the unit at the Rajpura Dariba Complex, the Sindesar Khurd Mine team Garnered the Distinguished Award, complemented by the “Meritorious Award” earned by team Pallene. The Rajpura Dariba Mine Achievers were recognized with the “Excellence Award”, while Shastras received the Meritorious Award. Meanwhile, the Dariba Smelting Complex witnessed both Metal Crushers and FF Challengers clinching the prestigious “Excellence Award”. In the Zawar Group of Mines, Vidyut, and Nortech were acknowledged with the “Excellence Award” for their exceptional contributions. At Rampura Agucha, both RAM Geek and Agucha Visionaries received the esteemed “Excellence Award”, and at Zinc Smelter Debari, MCTP Mavericks secured the “Par Excellence Award”, with ZE Innovators attaining the “Excellence Award”.
Teams recognized with both Excellence and Par Excellence Awards are now eligible to represent the company at the upcoming International Convention on Quality Concepts (ICQC).
