MAHARASHTRA (India CSR): Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies, formally presented multiple strategic MoUs under its CSR initiative, Project SHINE, which were formalised in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, along with Girish Mahajan, Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Disaster Management, Government of Maharashtra and Pankaja Munde, Hon’ble Minister of Environment & Climate Change, Animal Husbandry, Government of Maharashtra, and Senior Government Officials. HCCB’s partnerships aim to equip women, enhance water infrastructure, upgrade healthcare and education, upskill youths and uplift tribal communities in the regions of Ratnagiri, Palghar, Jalgaon, and Pune.

District Administration Support

As part of this partnership, Devender Singh, IAS, District Collector, Ratnagiri; Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, IAS, District Collector, Palghar; Shri Ayush Prasad, IAS, District Collector, Jalgaon; and Shri Jitendra Dudi, IAS, District Collector, Pune will lead their respective district administrations in facilitating necessary permissions and approvals for project execution, as well as supporting beneficiary selection, stakeholder coordination, and community mobilization. By aligning district development plans with HCCB’s initiatives, the administrations will help ensure successful project implementation and drive positive change in their communities.

Chief Minister’s Vision

On the MoU partnership, Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, remarked, “Maharashtra’s strength lies in the resilience of its people and the diversity of its regions. These partnerships with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages are the roadmaps that will support the communities in Ratnagiri, Palghar, Jalgaon, and Pune and achieve accelerated and inclusive growth. I am pleased to see HCCB extend their CSR efforts beyond urban centres into developmentally rural and tribal districts — a key focus of our Government’s mission. We remain steadfast in our vision of creating an ecosystem where every district thrives, where infrastructure and livelihoods go hand in hand. This collaboration is a step forward in our journey of making Maharashtra a model of holistic development for the entire country.”

Strengthening Community Commitment

Adding to this, Himanshu Sekhar Priyadarshi, VP & Chief Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Officer (PACS), HCCB, stated, “At HCCB, we are committed to strengthening communities by addressing their most critical challenges. We deeply resonate with the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s call to extend CSR efforts into remote and underserved regions, and our initiatives in Ratnagiri, Palghar, Jalgaon, and Pune reflect that commitment. Through our community partnership programs, we create scalable development models that balance growth with social responsibility. By aligning with local administrations and tailoring interventions to district-specific needs, we are laying the foundations for long-term progress. From water security in tribal hamlets to accessible healthcare in rural belts, from empowering women’s Self-Help Groups to equipping youth with future-ready skills, we are deepening our investment in Maharashtra’s future, ensuring that women, youth, and rural communities are empowered for generations to come.”

Comprehensive CSR Initiatives

Under the MoU, HCCB will plan, co-design, and execute relevant CSR initiatives across the four districts, including deployment of electric vehicles for waste collection, rejuvenation of water bodies, upgradation of schools and Anganwadis, upgradation of Primary Health Centres (PHCs), along with development of a comprehensive WASH ecosystem, providing hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition training, construction of Overhead Water Tanks (OHTs), and expansion of Naagrik Soochna Kendras (NSKs) to improve access to Government schemes. The program also includes skill development for youth, digital literacy, and livelihood support for women through Self-Help Groups.

Project SHINE Framework

Through this MoU with the District Administrations of Ratnagiri, Pune, Palghar, and Jalgaon, HCCB reiterates its commitment to community empowerment under Project SHINE, a CSR Initiative built on five core thematic areas: Sustainable Solutions for Environment & Disaster Management, Health & Hygiene through WASH Initiatives, Inclusive Growth via Women Empowerment & Livelihood, Nurturing Potential with Education & Skill Building, and Empowering Communities for a Better Future.

Lasting Community Impact

Through Project SHINE, HCCB continues to undertake various CSR activities, including health and hygiene awareness programs, waste management projects, installation of digital smartboards, Anganwadi upgradation, sessions on Nagrik Suchana Kendra (NSK) to create awareness on government schemes and facilitating enrolments and skill development training for women and youth in Maharashtra. Till date, HCCB’s CSR efforts have positively impacted over ~1,20,000 individuals across the state of Maharashtra.
