MAHARASHTRA (India CSR): Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies, formally presented multiple strategic MoUs under its CSR initiative, Project SHINE, which were formalised in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, along with Girish Mahajan, Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Disaster Management, Government of Maharashtra and Pankaja Munde, Hon’ble Minister of Environment & Climate Change, Animal Husbandry, Government of Maharashtra, and Senior Government Officials. HCCB’s partnerships aim to equip women, enhance water infrastructure, upgrade healthcare and education, upskill youths and uplift tribal communities in the regions of Ratnagiri, Palghar, Jalgaon, and Pune.
District Administration Support
As part of this partnership, Devender Singh, IAS, District Collector, Ratnagiri; Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, IAS, District Collector, Palghar; Shri Ayush Prasad, IAS, District Collector, Jalgaon; and Shri Jitendra Dudi, IAS, District Collector, Pune will lead their respective district administrations in facilitating necessary permissions and approvals for project execution, as well as supporting beneficiary selection, stakeholder coordination, and community mobilization. By aligning district development plans with HCCB’s initiatives, the administrations will help ensure successful project implementation and drive positive change in their communities.

Comprehensive CSR Initiatives
Under the MoU, HCCB will plan, co-design, and execute relevant CSR initiatives across the four districts, including deployment of electric vehicles for waste collection, rejuvenation of water bodies, upgradation of schools and Anganwadis, upgradation of Primary Health Centres (PHCs), along with development of a comprehensive WASH ecosystem, providing hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition training, construction of Overhead Water Tanks (OHTs), and expansion of Naagrik Soochna Kendras (NSKs) to improve access to Government schemes. The program also includes skill development for youth, digital literacy, and livelihood support for women through Self-Help Groups.
Project SHINE Framework
Through this MoU with the District Administrations of Ratnagiri, Pune, Palghar, and Jalgaon, HCCB reiterates its commitment to community empowerment under Project SHINE, a CSR Initiative built on five core thematic areas: Sustainable Solutions for Environment & Disaster Management, Health & Hygiene through WASH Initiatives, Inclusive Growth via Women Empowerment & Livelihood, Nurturing Potential with Education & Skill Building, and Empowering Communities for a Better Future.
Lasting Community Impact
Through Project SHINE, HCCB continues to undertake various CSR activities, including health and hygiene awareness programs, waste management projects, installation of digital smartboards, Anganwadi upgradation, sessions on Nagrik Suchana Kendra (NSK) to create awareness on government schemes and facilitating enrolments and skill development training for women and youth in Maharashtra. Till date, HCCB’s CSR efforts have positively impacted over ~1,20,000 individuals across the state of Maharashtra.
