MUMBAI: Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited (FGII), the general insurance arm of the joint venture between retail game changers Future Group and global insurer Generali, has extended its support to Zila Parishad School in Ghotsai village, Thane district, Maharashtra.
FGII in association with NGO Habitat for Humanity has built sanitation facilities and installed water filtration unit for the 289 children studying in the school.
As part of its continued intervention in the school, the company has also contributed towards construction of terrace and donated computers for the school computer lab.
This initiative emphasizes the company’s commitment towards uplifting the society through sustainable solutions for the key issues related to Education, Health and Environment.
On the day of inauguration, a senior leader from the company along with 22 employee volunteers were present.
The employee volunteers engaged the children in behavioral change awareness workshop. The aim of these sessions was to ensure that children understand the importance of proper utilization of sanitation structures and to help promote benefits of hygiene practices among them.
The employees made awareness posters with the children and played games with them. They also distributed hand sanitizers to the children.
FGII believes that education and health are inseparable. With this project, the company aims to ensure a healthy physical learning environment which further leads to increase in attendance and improved learning among children.
