PUNE (India CSR): FUEL has partnered with Concord Biotech to provide STEM Coaching to 50 students of Defence School Ahmedabad and two STEM Labs at Govt Schools, Dholka under the CSR initiative of Concord Biotech. This initiative is a joint effort toward the goal to develop and enhance the skills of rural communities. The program will support the mission to support the Defence personnel’s Children through academic coaching and mentoring.

Knowledge of digital pedagogy

According to the KPMG School Education Assessment Ed-Tech 2021 report, During Covid – 19 era students from the milestone year were deprived of STEM coaching due to schools not reopening. The report also highlights that only around 18% of rural students, mostly of grades higher than class 8 and belonging to private schools, attended online classes. Factors such as poor Internet connectivity, difficulty in sharing content through mobile phones, and lack of knowledge of digital pedagogy as some of the factors which created a hindrance in learning.  To cater to these classrooms of the future may need to adopt a “Phygital” or blended learning approach combining the benefits of traditional classroom instruction with technology.

STEM Labs for Govt Schools

The FUEL is a non-profit organization that has a vision and mission to empower the youth and make them future-ready. FUEL with the help of Concord Biotech is setting up two STEM Labs for Govt Schools, Dholka, and STEM Coaching to 50 Defence School Students of Ahmedabad. The STEM lab will be equipped with computers, tablets, and various gadgets to inculcate knowledge of subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Social Science & English along with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, and other future skills programs. Thus, ensuring and enabling that the students from remote parts along with the basic education are ready and prepared with future skills for better opportunities in the future and to lead a brighter life.

STEM Coaching and STEM Lab

Ankur Vaid – CEO, Concord Biotech said “Under this CSR initiative of Concord Biotech, we have signed an MoU with FUEL to work with Defence School and Govt Schools of Ahmedabad District to provide STEM Coaching and STEM Lab to the needy students of Grade X. The project tenure is of 3 years and during which we will be touching more than 1000 students and 3 schools. The project will support students to maximize performance in subjects of Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and English to succeed academically and future skills programs will enable them to develop new skills.”

STEM subjects play an important role

Ketan Deshpande, Founder Chairman, CEO, FUEL, shared that the milestone of academic coaching is very essential for any student who wishes to pursue higher education. STEM subjects play an important role and act as a dividing factor for the students to pursue stream electives. To cater to the challenges, we are proud to be associated with Concord Biotech and uplift the digital infrastructure of the Schools in Ahmedabad District, impacting more than 1000 students and supporting 3 schools.
