Knowledge of digital pedagogy
According to the KPMG School Education Assessment Ed-Tech 2021 report, During Covid – 19 era students from the milestone year were deprived of STEM coaching due to schools not reopening. The report also highlights that only around 18% of rural students, mostly of grades higher than class 8 and belonging to private schools, attended online classes. Factors such as poor Internet connectivity, difficulty in sharing content through mobile phones, and lack of knowledge of digital pedagogy as some of the factors which created a hindrance in learning. To cater to these classrooms of the future may need to adopt a “Phygital” or blended learning approach combining the benefits of traditional classroom instruction with technology.
