BENGALURU: Embassy Group, India’s Leading Real Estate Developer, has continued its support of the Bengaluru City Police as the number of positive cases of Covid-19 rise in Karnataka, by donating 4,500 face shields and 8,000 re-usable gloves for traffic police personnel, at the cost of Rs. 15 lakhs. The critical protective equipment was handed over to Hon’ble Shri Basavaraja Bommaih, Home Minister, Government of Karnataka at Town Hall.
Many of the Bengaluru Traffic Police are succumbing to the virus amidst rising cases in the city, with close to one-third of the 4,500 Bengaluru Traffic Police personnel infected. With a lockdown instituted in Bengaluru, police personnel are on the frontlines attempting to contain the pandemic, putting in longer work hours and facing strenuous physical requirements. The donation of protective equipment will be utilized towards ensuring that members of the police forces will be able to conduct their duties at the frontline while protecting themselves.
The face shields and re-usable gloves will be distributed over an 8-day period to 44 police stations and 3,800 personnel.

Embassy had previously supported police forces around the country, at the onset of the pandemic and the ensuing national lockdown. To assist them in conducting their duties in a safe and healthy manner, Embassy set up 11 hydration stations across the cities of Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Noida and Chennai. The stations were equipped with sanitizers, drinking water, tea/coffee, refreshments, access to first aid and toilets. In addition, Embassy procured hand 50,150 sanitizers, 1,05,800 disposable protective masks and 1,05,400 nutritional snacks for the task forces in these cities.
