CIPU initiative at Amity Gurugram aims to connect academia and industry through meaningful CSR collaboration
GURUGRAM (India CSR): The Confederation of Indian Private Universities (CIPU) will organise a high-level Academic–Industry Roundtable on “CSR-Driven Academic–Industry Partnerships for Research, Innovation and Institutional Growth” at Amity University, Gurugram, on April 10, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with India CSR joining the initiative as the Knowledge Partner.
The roundtable is being convened at a time when India’s higher education sector is witnessing rapid expansion and transformation. With the country’s large youth population entering colleges and universities, the need for stronger, more innovative and socially responsive institutions has become increasingly important. The organisers believe that academia, industry and society must work together to build universities that are globally competitive and future-ready.
The dialogue will focus on the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in strengthening higher education ecosystems through structured and sustainable partnerships. While CSR in India has contributed significantly to social development, its engagement with higher education remains limited and fragmented. The roundtable seeks to explore how CSR investments can be used in a more strategic manner to support research, innovation, inclusion and institutional growth.
The discussion will focus on key areas, including:
- Strengthening research infrastructure and establishing Centres of Excellence
- Supporting innovation ecosystems and startup incubation
- Advancing industry-aligned skilling and employability initiatives
- Promoting scholarships and inclusion for underserved communities
- Enabling digital transformation and sustainable campus development
The forum will also provide a platform to better understand the evolving expectations of the corporate sector and how universities can prepare students with relevant skills and competencies. Organisers said the roundtable aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry while fostering meaningful long-term partnerships that can create measurable social impact.
“As a leading platform for CSR thought leadership, India CSR is proud to support this important initiative as the Knowledge Partner. We warmly invite distinguished CSR leaders and academic stakeholders to join this national dialogue and contribute their valuable perspectives on building stronger academic–industry partnerships for research, innovation and institutional growth,” said Rusen Kumar, Founder, India CSR.
