New Delhi: On the account of World’s Cancer Day, Cosmo Foundation, the philanthropic wing of Cosmo Films Ltd., distributed blankets and served ready to eat food to 1,200 patients fighting cancer at Delhi Cancer Institute and Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in New Delhi. The event was organized with the support of ISKCON, New Delhi.
World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control to support the goals of the World
Talking about the event, Ms. Yamini Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation said, “Based on the cancer registry data it is estimated that there will be about 800,000 new cancers cases in India every year. With the increasing medical cost, especially in a tier 1 city like Delhi, a major population is still not able to meet even their daily needs.”
“At Cosmo Foundation, we aim to bridge these small gaps and this is one of our many humble efforts to give back to the community we live in”, she added.
A spokesperson from ISKCON Foundation, Delhi said, “We are happy to partner with Cosmo Foundation for this noble cause. Such efforts will go a long way in helping the patients make their like a bit easier.”
Cosmo Foundation is committed for the humanitarian services to the disadvantaged section of society. The organization is serving and empowering rural students with education and empowering communities with health hygiene awareness and support. In the past, a large number of philanthropic initiatives have been taken up by the organization including food, clothing, medical equipments, etc.
