CHENNAI: Aspire Systems, a leading global technology services firm, has announced the fifth batch of its six-month-long employment-focused IT skills empowerment program, ‘SHINE’. The program is being held in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) campus in collaboration with Vellore-based Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET).
Since its launch in 2016, Aspire continues to enrich the course with an intense focus on imparting necessary programming skills and soft skills to create employable IT professionals. The beneficiary students are selected from lower economic backgrounds from Vellore and its nearby districts.
The fifth batch of SHINE program was inaugurated in January 2019 with 18 enrolments. Since the program’s launch in August 2016, a total of 79 students have completed their courses across four batches. Aspire is immensely proud to announce that a majority of these students have already gained employment with IT companies across India.
SHINE program is structured to impart holistic job skills. The course not only focuses on imparting core programming skills, but also imparts soft skills that are vital for one’s professional success. Mr S Sathappan, General Manager, CSR, Aspire Systems said, “The SHINE program is playing a fruitful role in empowering unemployed and under-employed youth in the Vellore region. We offer the students a hands-on learning experience. We are delighted to share that the program has been a great success, as most of our candidates have found suitable IT careers.”

The Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET) is a registered not-for-profit organization established in 2012. The main objective of the Trust is to facilitate higher education for all the underprivileged students, especially orphan, semi-orphan, first- generation graduate from a poor family in gaining access to higher education. It also takes required actions to create awareness on the importance and benefits of higher education among poor and rural students, imparting skill development training programmes and offer employment support to student beneficiaries.
