PTC India Ltd. has been a market leader in the Power Trading sector over the past nearly 20 years. As a responsible corporate citizen, PTC has also always been responsive to the needs of the society and believe in the concept of giving back to the society.
With the aim to channelize CSR funds effectively, PTC India Ltd. and the group companies decided to set up its own Trust named as ‘PTC Foundation’, to take up 90% of the CSR spend through them. Accordingly, the PTC Foundation was registered as a Trust in October 2016.
Since inception in October, 2016 PFT has been engaged in undertaking a wide range of CSR activities with focus on Women Empowerment, Girl Child Education and their empowerment, Health and sanitation, Skilling Youth and Farmers, all from socially and economically disadvantaged communities.
The program also aimed towards promoting Renewable Energy (Solar Power), supporting differently abled person, public health and Hygiene, improved agriculture as well as empowering farmers towards livelihood improvement.
These activities have been targeted towards the economically weaker sections of the society to fulfill the social commitment of PTC and enhance their Corporate Image as a company committed towards fulfilling the felt needs of the relatively disadvantaged sections of the Society.
Leadership at PTC Foundation
Deepak Amitabh, IRS(r), Chairman and MD of PTC India is the Chairperson of PTC Foundation
Amar Prasad, IFS(r) is presently working as Director – (CSR), and is Head of the PTC Foundation Trust. Over the past 39 years of his career, he has worked in different capacities in Government, Corporations, PSU’s & NGO. He belongs to the Indian Forest Service and has worked in the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture, Chemical Fertilizer (KRIBHCO), Gramin Vikas Trust (NGO) in various Senior Level Positions. He has vast experience of working at the grass root level in the CSR related sectors, especially, with the Rural Population, in various issues relating to Livelihood improvement, Agriculture and Rural Development.
