NEW DELHI (India CSR): Community radio station Connect FM 107.8 (an initiative of S M Sehgal Foundation) has been awarded first prize in the “Children and Youth-led Climate Solutions” category for its impactful radio programming. The award was presented during the state-level conference on “Community Radio as a Changemaker for Climate Justice” held on May 21–22, 2025 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event was organized by the Alliance for Community Radio, Rajasthan, in collaboration with UNICEF. Priya Chaudhary, Assistant Program Lead, received the award on behalf of the radio station.
Kailash Chand Paharia, Member Secretary of the Rajasthan Youth Board, Government of Rajasthan, addressed the gathering and emphasized the critical role of youth in climate conservation. The event brought together stakeholders including representatives from ICDS, community radio stations, and UNICEF.

Pooja Oberoi Murada, Principal Lead, S M Sehgal Foundation, shared “Environmental education is essential, especially for rural communities who are often on the frontlines of climate change. This award is dedicated to the resilience and commitment of the communities who have partnered with CR Connect FM for over 13 years in parts of Rajasthan and Haryana. Through a participatory model, our station empowers local voices—not just as listeners, but as active co-creators—making climate dialogue inclusive and community-driven.”
