AURANGABAD: District collector Naval Kishor Ram has urged industrial houses in the city to participate in the implementation of government schemes as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
While speaking at a programme on Tuesday, Ram said that the government is running a number of welfare schemes in the district. Under CSR, the industries can chip in for an effective and successful implementation of these schemes.
The programme was organized by the department of information and public relations in association with the New Shiv Shakti Ganesh Mandal and Bajaj Auto Workers in the Khadkeshwar area.
While appreciating the CSR activities of the auto giant, the collector said that industrial houses like Bajaj Auto have been extending much help to boost the implementation of various schemes like water conservation, health, cleanliness drives and rural social change. He said that these industries play a crucial role in the effective implementation of the government schemes at the ground level.
The New Shiv Shakti mandal showcased a tableaux that depicted the ill-effects of excessive use of cellphones.
Ram appreciated the tableaux and highlighted the need of using electronic gadgets in a balanced manner. He urged the young generation to not fall prey to excessive use of mobiles and waste their precious time and energy that can be used to focus on career instead.
C P Tripathi of Bajaj Auto, Ganesh mandal president Gorakh Velanjkar and activists Indrakumar Jadhav, Vijay Lonikar and Sampat Gaikwad were also present at the event.
