RAIPUR (Chhattisgarh): The Chhattisgarh government has unveiled its ambitious ‘Anjor Vision 2047’, aiming to transform 5,000 villages into smart villages over the next two decades. The vision document, presented as a commitment rather than just a plan, outlines 13 development themes focusing on both urban and rural infrastructure.
Key features include 100% water availability, uninterrupted power supply, and expansion of smart city initiatives in five major cities. The housing sector will see progress with the completion of over 90% of approved projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The plan also highlights strategic development through mega projects in housing, healthcare, industry, and culture. Dedicated regional bodies will be formed to coordinate growth in identified zones. The government will invest heavily in greenfield smart villages and sustainable public transport infrastructure.
However, challenges such as healthcare and education access in tribal areas, along with rapid urbanization pressures, remain.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader push for a self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh by 2047, aligning with national development goals.
“It’s not just a document, it’s a vision of determination and development,” a government spokesperson said.
