NEW DELHI: Charkha Dialogue dedicated to Sustainable Farming, Khadi, Microenterprises and Rural Development is being organised on October 11, 2019 in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The Dialogue (Samvad) will witness 20 eminent leaders from government, business, civil society, international agencies and academia.
The forum has been established by India CSR, the largest network on CSR and Sustainability and Bhor Trust, a non-profit working on Gandhi’s literature.

The Dialogue will witness more than 200 eminent leaders from government, business, civil society, international agencies and academia. Charkha Dialogue promotes collaborative and collective approach towards rural development, micro enterprise development and elimination of poverty.

The eminent leaders who will speak at the Dialogue include Cabinet Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Thawar Chand Gehlot, MoS Pratap Chandra Sarangi, and Goa Governor Mridula Sinha.
India CSR Founder and Founder of Charkha Dialogue Rusen Kumar said, “The national level forum will include discussions on the evidence and experiences, deliberations on government policies on Rural India. It will also have dialogues on the best opportunities available.”
The First ever forum will witness the best practice examples from public and private sector and development groups that have worked effectively on rural development, will also be discussed, Kumar said.
Anuranjan Jha, senior Journalist and convenor of the forum said, “Gandhi and his ideas on rural development are still relevant today. It is therefore important to bring these ideas into mainstream of social discourses. With this conference, I believe we will be able to sensitise the stakeholders directly or indirectly engaged in rural economy, governance, policies and implementation.”

Charkha Dialogue: The annual forum is designed for key people of larger organisations making significant contribution to the progress of nation and welfare of the people at large.
