NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a heartfelt effort to foster creativity and inclusivity among young learners, Canon India marked World CSR Day by hosting a digital art workshop for students from Nandrampur Bass village, Haryana—one of the communities adopted under its flagship ‘Adopt a Village’ initiative.
With a vision to empower underprivileged children through education and creative learning, Canon India provided a hands-on digital experience, allowing young students to explore art, technology, and storytelling in a collaborative, engaging environment.
This initiative not only strengthened Canon India’s commitment to community development but also encouraged meaningful employee engagement—bridging the gap between corporate professionals and young learners.
Encouraging Creativity Through Digital Art
The workshop was designed to stimulate curiosity and self-expression, focusing on themes such as:
- What Makes Me Happy
- My School
- My Favorite Place
Each student was paired with a Canon India employee mentor, guiding them through the use of digital art tools to bring their imagination to life. The interactive session fostered not just artistic skills, but also confidence, collaboration, and self-expression.
By providing a platform for creative storytelling, Canon India ensured that these children could visualize and share their aspirations in a fun, meaningful way.
A Day at Canon India: Inspiring Future Innovators
Beyond the art workshop, the children were given a glimpse of Canon India’s workplace, allowing them to:
- Interact with employees and experience a professional setting
- Learn about Canon’s technology and innovations
- Gain exposure to career opportunities in digital media and creativity
This experience was not just educational but also empowering, as it gave the children a vision of possibilities beyond their immediate environment.
Canon India believes that early exposure to skill-building and professional spaces can inspire young minds to dream bigger and work towards a brighter future.

Canon’s ‘Adopt a Village’ Initiative: Driving Long-Term Change
Since its launch in 2012, Canon India’s ‘Adopt a Village’ initiative has focused on the holistic development of communities by strengthening education, health, environment, and livelihood (4Es CSR policy).
Currently, the initiative covers four adopted villages:
- Nandrampur Bass (Haryana)
- Parivali (Maharashtra)
- Annadodi (Karnataka)
- Kalyanpur (West Bengal)
Through infrastructural improvements, digital literacy programs, and skill-building initiatives, Canon India ensures that these villages receive sustainable support for long-term growth.
A Commitment to ‘Kyosei’: Living the Spirit of Community Growth
Rooted in its corporate philosophy of ‘Kyosei’—living and working together for the common good, Canon India aims to strengthen the social fabric of the country by contributing to sustainable community development.
Speaking about the initiative, a Canon India spokesperson shared:
“The youth are the foundation of a nation’s growth. At Canon India, we believe in providing young, bright minds with the right environment, exposure, and opportunities that lead to holistic development and inclusivity. Through initiatives like the digital art workshop, we are fostering creativity, confidence, and skill-building—ensuring that every child we support is empowered to pursue a brighter future.”
By merging technology with education and social engagement, Canon India continues to set a benchmark in CSR-driven empowerment, proving that small yet thoughtful efforts can create a lasting impact on young lives.
