PATNA (India CSR): India’s rich tapestry of culture, craftsmanship, and tradition is set to take center stage at the upcoming Bharat GI Mahotsav 2025, to be held from November 27 to 30, 2025, at City Centre Mall, Patna. Organized by PatnaKart Agro Farms Private Limited in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) and supported by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, the four-day national event will celebrate the Enterprising Charm of India’s GI—a tribute to products that are crafted in India and cherished by the world.

The Bharat GI Mahotsav will showcase around 50 unique GI-tagged products from across the country, with a special emphasis on Bihar’s renowned Geographical Indication heritage. Exhibits will include Bhagalpuri Silk, Madhubani Paintings, Shahi Litchi, Katarni Rice, Magahi Paan, Mithila Makhana, and the tribal art form Sohrai-Khovar. Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience GI treasures from other states, such as Assam’s Muga Silk, Karnataka’s Channapatna Toys, and West Bengal’s Darjeeling Tea—each representing a distinctive identity of India’s diverse cultural and geographical landscape.

In a bid to preserve authenticity and intellectual property rights, the organizers have announced that registration will be strictly open only to officially GI-registered authorized users. Participants must hold a valid GI registration certificate under the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999 and be recognized as authorized users by the GI Registry, Government of India. Furthermore, the applicants should belong to farmer producer organizations, self-help groups, cooperative societies, artisan collectives, or MSMEs that are officially registered as GI users.

During registration, applicants are required to upload copies of their GI registration certificate, authorized user details, and identity proof for verification. The entire registration process can be completed online through the official portal, www.patnakart.in. Only verified GI entities will be allotted stalls, ensuring transparency and integrity throughout the event. The number of stalls will be limited to maintain exclusivity and focus on genuine GI producers.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Abhinav Das, Founder and Director of PatnaKart Agro Farms Pvt. Ltd., said that the Bharat GI Mahotsav is not merely an exhibition but a mission to empower genuine producers and uphold the spirit of India’s traditional knowledge systems.

“The Bharat GI Mahotsav is not just an exhibition—it’s a mission to give rightful recognition and market access to India’s genuine GI producers. By restricting participation to officially registered authorized users, we are ensuring authenticity, traceability, and transparency. This initiative will help artisans, farmers, and cooperatives take pride in their GI identity and connect directly with consumers and institutional buyers,” he said.

Das further highlighted that PatnaKart, incubated under the RKVY RAFTAAR Project of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, has been actively involved in digitally empowering GI producers. Through its online marketplace and field-level initiatives, the company has promoted verified GI sellers and helped bridge the gap between traditional artisans and modern consumers.

Echoing the same spirit, Mayank Gaur, Joint Secretary of FISME, emphasized that the event will play a key role in connecting India’s traditional heritage with contemporary markets.

“Bharat GI Mahotsav 2025 is a platform that bridges tradition with modern enterprise. FISME’s collaboration with PatnaKart aims to strengthen the ecosystem around GI products—ensuring that the original creators benefit from their intellectual property. This initiative will encourage MSMEs, cooperatives, and artisans to preserve their heritage while accessing national and international markets,” he said.

The event will feature a vibrant exhibition and sale of authentic GI-tagged products, alongside live demonstrations by artisans showcasing traditional craftsmanship. Several interactive sessions will be held on GI branding, export promotion, and registration awareness. Business linkages will be facilitated through buyer-seller meets, while workshops will focus on the potential of GI products in enhancing rural livelihoods and exports.

A major attraction will be the “Taste of Bihar Pavilion,” a dedicated section that will highlight Bihar’s GI-certified food products and traditional delicacies, giving visitors an authentic glimpse into the state’s rich gastronomic heritage.

The Bharat GI Mahotsav 2025 promises to be a unique confluence of culture, commerce, and creativity—where heritage meets opportunity.

Event Details:

The event will be held from 27th to 30th November 2025 at City Centre Mall, Patna. Registration for GI-authorized users is open at www.patnakart.in. The event is organized by PatnaKart Agro Farms Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with FISME and supported by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
