Building Sustainable Communities Through Water, Health and Education

NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a year marked by growth, innovation, and a stronger commitment to sustainability, Apex Ecotech Limited — a leading player in water and wastewater management — reinforced that true corporate success lies in serving both business and society. For the financial year 2024–25, the company achieved 100% compliance with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations, spending the full Rs 8.15 lakhs toward social development initiatives.

The funds were thoughtfully directed to key areas aligned with Apex Ecotech’s core mission — Rs 6.00 lakhs toward healthcare and sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Kosh, Rs 1.00 lakh toward education and skill development, and Rs 1.15 lakhs toward national relief and emergency funds.

This achievement reflects Apex Ecotech’s belief that environmental sustainability and social progress must flow together — just as water, the company’s domain of expertise, sustains life. The year reaffirmed Apex Ecotech’s purpose-driven growth built on ethics, impact, and inclusion.

CSR Mandate and Financial Framework

Under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, all eligible companies are required to allocate at least 2 percent of their average net profit from the preceding three financial years toward CSR initiatives.

For FY 2024-25, Apex Ecotech Limited became eligible after reporting a net profit above Rs 5 crores in FY 2023-24. The calculation process, disclosed transparently in the company’s 16th Annual Report, is as follows:

ParticularsAmount (₹ in lakhs)
Average Net Profit (Section 135 (5))407.34
2 % of Average Net Profit (CSR Obligation)8.15

Accordingly, the total CSR obligation for FY 2024-25 was Rs 8.15 lakhs.

Because this amount fell below the Rs 50 lakh threshold, Apex Ecotech was exempt from constituting a separate CSR Committee. Instead, the company’s Board of Directors directly assumed oversight, ensuring that CSR planning and execution were integrated within its corporate governance framework — a clear signal of managerial accountability and transparency.

Achieving Full Compliance: Zero Shortfall Reported

In an era when many firms struggle to meet mandated CSR targets, Apex Ecotech’s precise execution stands out. The total CSR spend of Rs 8.15 lakhs exactly matched its calculated obligation, leaving no unspent amount or carry-forward balance.

  • CSR Obligation (FY 2024-25): Rs 8.15 lakhs
  • Total Amount Spent on CSR Projects: Rs 8.15 lakhs
  • Unspent Amount: Nil

This 100 percent compliance underscores the company’s disciplined approach to governance and its conviction that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not an expense but an investment in long-term value creation for society.

Health and Sanitation: The Core of Apex’s Social Vision

Water, sanitation, and hygiene form the cornerstone of both Apex Ecotech’s business and its CSR mission. The company directed the largest portion of its CSR budget — Rs 6.00 lakhs — to projects promoting public health and sanitation.

Key Initiatives:

  • Contribution to the Swachh Bharat Kosh: Supporting the Central Government’s flagship mission to eliminate open defecation and improve sanitation in rural and urban India.
  • Clean Water and Waste Management Programs: Promoting safe drinking water access and hygienic wastewater practices within communities adjoining industrial zones.

The allocation mirrors the company’s operational DNA — delivering environmental engineering solutions such as effluent and sewage treatment plants, zero-liquid-discharge systems, and industrial water recycling technologies. By redirecting technical expertise toward grassroots well-being, Apex Ecotech demonstrates how corporate competence can become a tool for social progress.

Empowering Through Education and Skills

Education remained a critical theme of Apex Ecotech’s FY 2025 CSR strategy. The company allocated Rs 1.00 lakh to projects that promote quality education and skill development.

Focus Areas:

  • Vocational Training for Youth and Women: Equipping local communities with market-ready skills in environmental services and green technologies.
  • Special Education Support: Assistance to educational institutes working with children and adults with disabilities.

This focus on education aligns with the company’s internal HR philosophy of developing human capital and fostering technical competence among its 116 employees. By investing in knowledge and skills outside its factory gates, Apex Ecotech creates a virtuous cycle of learning and employment that benefits society at large.

Standing With the Nation: Relief and Resilience Funds

Complementing its work in health and education, Apex Ecotech also directed Rs 1.15 lakhs to national relief and emergency funds, including the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) and the PM CARES Fund.

This allocation reflects the company’s recognition of corporate citizenship beyond business — supporting the country during crises such as natural disasters, health emergencies, or pandemic response. The decision to diversify CSR spending across developmental and emergency domains demonstrates a balanced approach to long-term nation-building and short-term relief.

Governance and Transparency: CSR in Practice

FY 2024-25 was a landmark year for Apex Ecotech not only because of its CSR execution but also for its advances in corporate governance. Following its public listing on the NSE SME Platform, the company voluntarily adopted enhanced disclosure standards.

  • CSR Oversight: The Board of Directors directly monitored project implementation and ensured spending within Schedule VII of the Companies Act.
  • Public Disclosure: All CSR data and policies were published in Annexure VI of the Annual Report FY 2024-25, available on the company’s official website.
  • Leadership: Under the guidance of Managing Director Anuj Dosajh, the company emphasized responsibility and ethical growth as foundational pillars for a post-IPO era of sustainable expansion.

Such transparency enhances stakeholder confidence and positions Apex Ecotech as a model for emerging SMEs committed to ethical business and community engagement.

Financial and Operational Highlights Provide Stability

Apex Ecotech’s CSR efforts were backed by strong financial performance in FY 2025. The company reported steady revenues from water treatment projects, industrial solutions, and municipal contracts, reflecting a healthy order pipeline and diversified client base.

The transition to a publicly listed entity enhanced capital availability for R&D and sustainability initiatives. This financial resilience enabled Apex Ecotech to allocate resources toward CSR activities without compromising operational growth, showing that responsibility and profitability can coexist harmoniously.

Linking CSR to Core Purpose: Water and Sustainability

Apex Ecotech’s CSR philosophy is deeply connected to its business purpose — ensuring clean water for all and restoring the environment. Through its CSR and core operations, the company actively supports UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

The company’s initiatives embody its belief that social development and environmental stewardship are inseparable from industrial growth. Every drop treated and every rupee spent contribute to building a more sustainable India.

You Learn

Apex Ecotech Limited’s CSR Report for FY 2024-25 is a case study in how even modest financial allocations can achieve meaningful results when applied strategically and ethically. By spending the entire Rs 8.15 lakh mandate on health, education, and relief initiatives, the company not only met its statutory requirement but also deepened its connection to the communities it serves.

In doing so, Apex Ecotech proved that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not about scale — it is about sincerity of purpose and clarity of impact. As the company continues to expand its technological footprint in India’s water sector, its social and environmental initiatives will flow alongside — quietly shaping a cleaner, healthier, and more equitable tomorrow.
