MUMBAI (India CSR): Anil Agarwal, the Chairman of Vedanta Resources, shared a heartfelt message on his social media reflecting on his first Diwali without his mother and the inspiration he draws from her wisdom. Agarwal expressed that, though his mother is no longer with him, her blessings continue to guide him like a light illuminating his path. “This is the first Diwali without my mother,” he wrote, “but it feels as if her blessings are now lighting my way at every step.”
Remembering his mother’s perspective on Diwali, he shared, “She always said, ‘Diwali is the biggest festival of the year, a time to leave behind all sorrows, victories, defeats, and grudges, and make a fresh start before Lakshmi Ma.’ Her words have always given me the strength to keep moving forward.”
This Diwali also carried special significance with the arrival of handmade clay lamps from children involved in the Nand Ghar project, a Vedanta initiative dedicated to supporting marginalized communities. “These lamps, crafted by little artists, have truly brightened our Diwali,” Agarwal noted. “Each lamp seems to capture a glimpse of their innocence and pure hearts.”
Agarwal’s vision for Nand Ghar extends beyond festive gestures. Through the Nand Ghar initiative and various Vedanta factories, he aspires to uplift the community, especially women and children, with opportunities for livelihood, nutrition, and a better quality of life. “My dream is for our daughters to lead the way in the days to come, lighting thousands of lamps and spreading happiness in every home,” he shared with hope.
Reflecting on the broader mission of Nand Ghar, he called upon the community to join hands, transforming the project into a national movement. “May God grant us the strength to turn this Nand Ghar initiative into a movement,” Agarwal appealed.
He concluded his message with warm wishes, “Wishing everyone a blessed festival. May this Diwali bring new heights, new joy, and endless happiness to your lives. May all darkness fade, and may prosperity and peace reside in every home. Happy Diwali!”
