NEW DELHI: Vedanta Group said that it planned an outlay of Rs 800 crore for setting up 4,000 Nand Ghars (Model Anganwadies) in 11 states over next few years. The program, in line with Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta Group pledge to give back 75% of his wealth to the society.
Company today inaugurated 500th Anganwadi at Chaksu Block in Jaipur of Rajasthan. Through the programme, it has reached out to more than 17,000 children and 15,000 women, aimed to lead early childhood development program in three states – Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The project addresses issues relating to pre-primary education, health care, nutrition for children, and economic empowerment for women in rural India.
