MUMBAI: Ambuja Cements Ltd., has bagged the YES BANK Natural Capital Award- 2017 in the Eco-Corporate category under Manufacturing Sector, the second time in a row that it has been recognized by this forum.
Award recognizes the efforts in creating awareness, promoting best practices, and building capacities towards environmental sustainability practices and encourages sustainable manufacturing practices.
Ajay Kapur, MD & CEO said, “This accolade for the second consecutive time is a result of the success we have achieved by adopting sustainable manufacturing process in our operations. Recognitions further motivate us towards broadening our Sustainable Development vision.”
The selection received entries from 500 corporates and were subsequently scrutinized and finally selected by an eminent jury consisting of naturalists, industry stalwarts, photographers and environmentalists.
While presenting the award, the jury appreciated the sustainability initiatives carried out by Ambuja especially the water resource management endeavours.
Water Management has been the key focus areas for Ambuja for more than a decade. The continuous Water Management efforts have made the company 5.5 times water positive, so far the highest in India. Ambuja continues to scale up its efforts towards building a robust and effective water management network across the country.
