BHUBANESWAR: Aditya Birla Group’s Aditya Aluminium Company has bagged the prestigious India CSR Award 2016 for significant contribution to the field of generating livelihood programmes for the people of the peripheral villages of its plant site at Lapnaga in the district of Samablpur in Odisha.
The award function was organized in Bengaluru on August 27, 2016.
On behalf of the company, Mrs Lopamudra Mishra, Manger CSR of Aditya Aluminium had received the award from T.B.Jayachandra, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka in the presence of Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, DG & CEO, India Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA); Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Trustee and CEO, Wockhardt Foundation; Ramdas Mansing Mane, CMD, Mane Group of Companies; Sanjay Katkar, Joint MD, Quick Heal Technologies Limited; Sudarshan Suchi, Program Head, Reliance Foundation; Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor, India CSR and Dr Rana Singh, Co-Founder and CEO, India CSR.
The Jury of the Award applauded the efforts of the company for contributing extensively by imparting traiinig to the villagers on the various arenas of the livelihood programmes like Mushroom Cultivation, Fish Cultivation, Poultry, Goatery, Farming, Vegetable cultivation, Phenol Making, Tailoring Training, Namkeen Making, Sauce Making, Broom Making and many more. Besides the company too guided them to marketwise their products whereby they could be able to earn handsomely.
The India CSR Awards focuses on honouring and celebrating the innovation and significant contributions that CSR practices make to the economy and the society. Every year various companies have been chosen for their different spheres of CSR activities and this year Aditya Aluminium has been short-listed for the said coveted award in the Livelihood promotion category.
Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, DG & CEO, India Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) in his key note address has emphasized saying that, “It is a history in making by enacting the progressive legislation and there are exciting times ahead for CSR in India. We are hopeful that the law would help in India’s growth and development.”
Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor, India CSR in his welcome note said that, “India CSR Awards is one of the prestigious recognitions that honours the outstanding and innovative CSR, Sustainability and Social enterprise projects and recognises leadership in CSR. The platform recognises individuals, organisations, corporates and projects that have made positive impact to the society’.
