CHANDWA (Jharkhand): Power and steel sectors in the country have always been deprived of technical manpower. Now in the era when these two sectors are surging ahead at full pace creation of skill manpower becomes indispensible. In order to bridge the gap Abhijeet group is consistently developing the skilled manpower in the region, beneficiaries of which are the companies working in the state or willing to join the state for any such future projects.
Chandwa is situated at 100 km way from Ranchi at Latehar district in Jharkhand state. This is the place where Abhijeet Group is setting up a power plant of 1740 MW.
Looking at industrial development in the district of Latehar the people of this area who were working outside the state have started coming back to grab the opportunity of our skill development program. The company envisaged various skill development programs years back which are now legitimate and other vocational training programs are on the verge of finalization and may come up in due course of time. The company not only aims at the development of the skill manpower but is also trying to develop the small entrepreneurs who may fulfill the requirements of the people residing in the area.
Mr Amrendra Kumar, Assistant General Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) said the initiative taken by the company has been well appreciated by all the stakeholders wherein the rural children undergo technical training. This year 54 students have been selected for the ITI Training course at Ranchi. All the students are selected on the basis of their qualification and they belong to the villages in project affected area.
The Welcome Ceremony for these 54 students was organized on the 5January 2012. All the members of Visthapit Vikas Sahyog Committee, Director Tribal Institute of Technology Ranchi and Mukhiya from the villages were present for the Occasion. Mr Rajeev Goyal, CCM, Abhijeet Group was the Chief Guest of the ceremony and he said, these students who are being sent for the ITI course are being trained and prepared for the growth and development of the country.
In the year 2009 the first batch of 18 students were sent to Ranchi for training and then these ITI passed students were sent to Nagpur for a special apprenticeship. After the apprenticeship they were placed at various locations of Abhijeet Group. Subsequently the next batches of 50 students were sent to ITI Ranchi in last year. These students belong to PAVs.
The company sponsors full course fee of Rs. 35,000 per student for the course of two years and each student gets scholarship of Rs. 1500 every month.
In his speech Mr. Rajeev Goyal addressed the students and persuaded them to develop skill and chauvinism together to serve the country for integral and inclusive growth.
