NEW DELHI: The Yuvraj Singh Foundation embarked on its mission to create awareness about cancer as they participated in The Pink Hands – Fight against Cancer event which was organized by Jashn-E-Sai – a group of 70,000 members following the principles of Sai Baba on August 4, 2018 at Satya Sai Baba Auditorium, Lodhi Road.
The event was also supported by Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and Red Rocks Entertainment.
The event witnessed exemplary participation of more than 500 active citizens who came together in aiding a total of 50 Underprivileged Cancer Patients from below the Poverty Line who will be treated at the Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital.
Celebrated cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s mother and Chairperson of YouWeCan Foundation, Ms. Shabnam Singh graced the occasion with her presence as the guest speaker, and was joined by Gaurav Arora- Founder of Jashn E Sai, and Dr. Anshuman, Director – Surgical Oncology, Dharamashila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital.
The event comprised of Awareness Talk by Dr, Anshuman, performances by Cancer Survivors and an Award Ceremony in the form of Sai Samman.
The event was commenced on a positive note in form of Sai Bhajan Sandhya and plant distribution as symbol of reaping seeds of change for Cancer Awareness and Treatment; which will be carried forward by the treatment of the Cancer Patients in the future.
The Chairperson of Yuvraj Singh Foundation, Shabnam Singh expressed her delight at helping the underprivileged children – ” Our Foundation is committed towards Early Cancer Detection through Cancer Screening Camps and Awareness Programmes. We have successfully conducted more than 120 Cancer Screening Camps in different regions of the country which directly benefitted people from vulnerable and marginalized sections.”
Gaurav Arora, Founder of Jashn-E-Sai also shared the overall vision of the initiative – “We have succeeded in spreading the cancer awareness and have started the treatment of poor cancer patients who are not able to pay for their treatment. We hope to make sure that we continue with our efforts this year until we reach our target of treatment of 50 cancer patients.”
