NEW DELHI: Fueling interesting discussions on investing in young leaders for social change and progress, established leaders from India’s corporate sector came together to highlight the need of developing Next Generation Leaders in India.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Dialogue organized by Habitat for Humanity India in association with Center for Creative Leadership – a global leadership development organization, witnessed who’s who of India’s corporate leaders deliberating on nurturing leadership skills among the youth for building a better India.
Sunil Puri, Asia Pacific Head of Innovation and Research, Centre for Creative Leadership and Dr. Roland Smith, Group Head, Leadership Strategy and Development, Interglobe Enterprises presented an Indian approach and the role of business leaders in developing next generation leaders in India.
They were joined by industry leaders Aditya Ghosh – President, Indigo Airlines, P. Balaji – Director, Regulatory Affairs, External Affairs and CSR, Vodafone India and Rajan Samuel, Managing Director, Habitat for Humanity India in engaging discussions that focused on creating change agents, dream catchers and developing young leaders.
More than 50% of India’s population is below the age of 25. These youngsters have the potential to build a better India by providing underprivileged families with affordable homes and improved sanitation.
The audience also got a glimpse of the Habitat Young Leaders Build (HYLB) Leadership Academy’s training programme developed by Habitat India in partnership with Center for Creative Leadership.
The training aims to create positive change within the youth while teaching them how to lead themselves, lead with others, and change their world to create an impact in their communities. 20 young leaders have graduated from the first batch of The HYLB Leadership Academy.
Along with their Master Trainers, these young leaders will work in their local communities in improving the housing and sanitation scenario in India.
